    Symptoms to check, oil around filler and coil packs. Take inlet manifold pipe off on manifold side and blow through it, if its blocked thats good if air flows freely its knackered. If theres vacuum at the oil filler while motors running thats fine. Lift dipstick halfway, if theres a suction...

    Gonna have to get the wheel and arch cover out to check the bushes. Id definitely check these if youve had a second opinion on the track rods etc.

    CV Joint, tracking rod, ARB, bushes? no codes so must be mechanical. Try banging the lower engine covers a bit see if it makes the same noise.

    Sounds fine, battery may not be great in the CCA dept. thats why it turns over slow when its cold and fine when warmer. Can try cleaning terminals. Tdi engines pull more from a battery than petrols so need bigger batts. CCA = Cold Cranking Amps. How old is the battery, has it done this since...

    No problem mate, glad its sorted, EGRs on these usually go bad. If it still misbehaves replace the vacuum tubes first, its probably the cheapest next step in my own experience. Can get meter lengths of silicone type on Ebay for next to nothing.

    Id be surprised if it were the coolant temp sensor as the temp reading doesnt get to operating temp (90) when its knackered and/or the heater doesnt get hot.

    Just heat the glowplugs twice. Key in, glowplug light out, turn off, key in, glowplug light off, start.
