As you say given it's an LED it will flash when checking for faulty bulbs, but during the day DRL's are on so not an issue and as I have auto headlights xenons come on at night so have never driven with the lights off. We all know there is never a perfect solution when it comes to LED's but I...
Yeah it was really just to let you know what has worked for me, I know searching on forums it is tough to get a straight answer. These DRL LED bulbs have been in my car for 3 months now with no error message. Your right it is cheaper to go on ebay, but I find a hassle to return. This way i could...
Coming in late here, but you are correct large bulb is daytime running light. You can switch on/off in the settings. Mine came with standard bulb which was 382. did not match the xenons at all so I switched them out for the below. Muck better match this time. Also the one above this is the...
Okay will have a look, they are xenon. Only work I have done is replacing the sidelights and the DRL's. That was accessing them from the back so don't imagine they will have moved with that.
Hello,
Believe my headlights are angled too high, have had a few people flashing to suggest full beams are on when they aren't.
Had a brief look in the car setting but there doesn't seem anything to adjust them. Is this a take to the garage job or is it simple enough to do?
Thanks
I can confirm that I have now been able to replace the sidelights and day time running lights without removing bumper and headlights in my 3.0 v6. You will need to contort your hands into odd positions and will come out with multiple cuts and scrapes. Hopefully won't have to do that again in a...
Yes I have found this out now. The filter although it has many parts does give easier access to the back of the lights. Tried the other side and had to admit defeat. Its the bracket that holds the power steering pump (believe that's the part) that gets in the way. Might need to resort to bumper...
Yes, I think it will be easier to persevere with removing air filter to get access to the back. Will pick up some gloves to minimize the cuts and scrapes I have already got.
Yes as you mention, the V6 whilst a great engine, zero room to access these parts. No doubt deliberate so Audi can charge...
How simple is it to remove the bumper. Seems excessive just to change the bulbs and don't want to put it back together incorrect.
If and when I get back in to change the DRL bulbs will it be the same as suggested above when replacing the main bulb turning the bulb anti clockwise to remove it...
Hi guys,
Getting round to changing my bulbs from yellow looking halogen to whiter bulbs to match the xenons.
Car is a 2008 A6 avant Le mans 3.0. Engine bay room is limited and virtually the whole air filter system needs removed to get access to the back of the lights.
After alot of swearing...
Sounds like it could be a either a ABS Sensor that needs replaced which is relatively cheap or worst case scenario a new wheel bearing. I had to replace 2 wheel bearings in the space of a couple of months on my old Seat as those same lights came on. It came to about £250 each. Not sure how much...
Thanks for the reply guys,
Yeah thought it would be lucky if they were suitable. May sell them and put towards a new set of wheels. Last car was FWD so having the Quattro will no doubt give an advantage anyway.
