Hi guys,

Ordering the new flow formed REVO wheels and deciding what best size tyre to buy....sorry another best tyre question!!

8.5 square set-up ET45.

looking at MPS4 and know these are a wide tyre compared to other manufacturers at the same width.

Fitter has recommended 255/30 but I’m worried the gap might look too big with the lower profile and not planning on dropping the car. I know 235/35 will fit ok as others have done on 8.5 wheels but would 245/35’s be the best option?

anyone have the REVO wheels fitted and what tyres did you go for?

Thanks for any advice.

When I finally ditch the Pirelli's I will go 235/35, I'm on the older Revo wheels so same specs. 235/35 because they are cheaper than 245 and the grip difference is going to be minimal and certainly not worth the large premium over 235.

I ran 245 all round (sportsback) perfect fit with no issues with the car being lowered as well.

We run the new Revo wheels ( as you would expect) with 235/35 all round

Another for 235 all round.

Remember the tread width on oem Pirelli is narrower than on an upgrade tyre.

I know as I’ve measured em

Thanks Dan.

There seems a shortage on the matt bronze wheels according to my local REVO dealer and all pre-orders already taken! If you’ve got any contacts that can get me a set I’d be eternally grateful

235/35 MP4s's all round here on 19x8.5 ET45 and they fit and perform beautifully. Little noisier than pirellis, but night and day traction difference.

Those revo wheels look nice. Will they take an Audi centre cap?

Wish I could help, all I can suggest is calling up Revo and asking.

Haha, don’t worry Dan I didn’t expect you to.
I’ve got my local REVO dealer on the case to see if he can source any, seems the bronze got snapped up really quick and have my heart set on them, not keen on black alloys personally although they do seem to suit Nardo with black pack.

Not sure on the Audi caps but as I’m going bronze wheels I guess I’d have to get the Audi ones painted to match.

Would you mind trying one of your caps in the new wheel if you get a chance? Black or silver Audi caps might look good on bronze. Hard to say.

Wheels ordered, hopefully arrive in the next 2 weeks as on back order.

Have gone for the 235/35 tyres, 10% off Michelin currently so a really good price for 4.

Can’t wait to get on the car, should look great and decent weight saving over the oem wheels.

But you have to mention that 245's at rear needs mudguard cutting in front area (towards door) as it would rub :) I am running 245 all round and I had to cut small piece of it..

If you have RS you should go for 255 30 R19 as wider tyre will be thicker anyway so you wouldn't have bigger gap ... That's why audi installing 255 30 front but 235 35 back becuse the level height will be the same ...
I only realised this when I purchased 2x 245 35 ones but had 2x 235 35 at rear but 245 tyre is wider but it is even taller yet they are still 35 ... So I was confused and then I realised to level it up wider tye needs lower profile if rear ones are kep narrower

I thought only reason for wider fronts were due to the staggered set-up on the oem wheels, the ones I’ve bought are 8.5 square and even the REVO development car that’s running the new wheels are on 235/35’s, that’s good enough for me ; )

I went from 255 fronts to 235 square setup.
No issues at all.
Don’t know what the guy above is going on about.

Cheers @T-1000 yes I’ve seen many go with the square 235 set up even on staggered wheels, makes sense to have 235 square on 8.5 wheels all round.

Do these wheels fit without spacers on the saloon? The car in the piston heads performance pack review is running 10mm spacers?

Not been advised on spacers, should be a direct fit but mines a Sportback.

The REVO development car is a saloon running these so maybe @Dan_DJT could advise?

I am running 245/35 all round on a sport back, and did not need to cut anything. Perfect fit with OZ leggera 8,5 ET 45

Bcos u have et 45 I have et 49 so less deep bore your wheels stick out now or exact flush
I was thinking of spacers 20mm back and 5 or 10mm front but not a fan of spacers.. ‍¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think there is a few millimeters left to go even wider

Stole that picture...wishing they were mine! Lol

Ordered mine from Progressive Parts near Manchester as there’s a shortage of these wheels and most stock orders already taken.

Looking sharp Riko!

Don't suppose you checked if stock centre caps fit those lovely wheels? ;)

Looks good. Mine is a saloon in Nardo with a very similar look on the front end. Wasn't sure about bronze wheels but these look good!

I’ll take a look over the weekend mate, need to clean up the original wheels so will pop off the centre cap and check.
