A3/S3 delivery lead time?

My S3 has been sat at the port of Emden waiting to be allocated to a ship for the last 4 weeks.... According to Audi customer care they can be in that state for up to 20 working days
My car is in its 6th week stay at Emden come this Monday awaiting shipping

Oh i totally understand that, doesn’t make the waiting any easier though.

i literally joined twitter to ask for an update @AudiUKCare , send them a DM and ask for an update. all you need is your name, what you ordered and order no. see if they say the same thing.
Pretty sure I know what they'll say, but I'll give it a go and see what comes back!

Just heard from my salesman, car is in the uk as well!

Just got the response to my Tweet too - now in Grimsby. Looks like they've made a big effort to get things moving as ours was only built a week or so ago. Let's see how long it takes to get it down to the dealers now!

My car has been in Grimsby since the 30th March. Dealer suggesting it should arrive with them by then end of the week.

Wow. When my dealer first talked me through the timelines, they did say that if your car is first onto the boat it can be last off, which can lead to a further delay this end. Fingers crossed your wait is almost over!

Sigh. We knew there were long queues at Emden, and it seems like they've powered through a few of those seeing as my car has come over 10 days after build while others waited 4-6 weeks there. I suppose that can only mean there are now a load of cars in Grimsby that they've got to sort through! Ah well - first world problems.

Just had a call from the dealer. They reckon likely to be 10-14 days to collection, so a bit more optimistic.

Same here, they reckon I should have the car by the end of April. Just hoping, fingers crossed, that being in Hull it won’t take too long to get across the river.

Excellent news. I'm expecting to hear similar early next week (may already be there but our bloke is off for a few days so he said we won't hear anything until next week anyway).
I can't get the car til Thursday at 10 am anyways appointment system so the salesman says can't fit me in before even though l have to drive 300 miles to Grimsby to pickup

Hi all
Ordered a A3 tdi editions from my local dealer on 3rd Feb.
I still have no build date and don't even have an order number (which I have asked for on 2 occasions)
No one seems to get back to me and when they do it very vague.
The latest I was told was that all A3s are due to be built in the last quarter but they are hoping this moves forward.
What does this even mean?
Does this mean the end of the year? I don't particularly want to wait nearly a year for a car.
Anyone else been told something similar recently?
Many thanks

Hi

You are looking at minimum of 21 weeks at present, although I think they are starting to come down a bit, but yes you could well beheading for a 71 plate

Just placed order for A3 35TFSI 1 edition manual. Got an order number but no build date , salesman said hoping for August (thinking that might be a bit optimistic).

Hmmm think I may look at cancelling the order then

Many thanks
I ordered my car in January l pick it on Thursday l am assuming one of the issues apart from the obvious ones ie flu, production issues etc etc is that most folks have ordered a car all at the same time ...so mass orders.....l personally couldn't wait more than 3/4 months for a factory order which is the norm for a Audi factory ordered car ...

I'm thinking covid and chip problems may be the main reasons (I've ordered a DSG model) but it's frustrating that I feel like I'm being fobbed off and not being given any other options other than to wait until the end of the year.
I think I'll give them until beginning of June then cancel if I don't have a build date by then

I put a deposit down for a new Audi A3 S line in turbo blue with a few add ons last sunday (ambient lighting/flat bottom steering wheel/£145 alloys)

I'm waiting to get confirmation from the dealership on the build date..... if I don't get the car in September Ill probably bail out

I'm going to head over to the dealership on sat and see what they have to say.
I'll decide then wether to cancel or not I think.
I'll let you know what happens

Our car has now arrived at the pre-delivery inspection centre, so will be with the dealer for collection some time next week. Edging closer - my wife is now officially impatient!

Nice.... Daytona Grey. is a really nice colour... I was close to going with it but decided to take a risk with turbo blue.... I personally think the earliest that we'll get our cars is September
