Does anyone go to the dealer for service items?

I want to give the S3 an oil change next week, I use Quantum Longlife.

Back when I had my last 1.8T I used to go to TPS but that no longer seems to be possible.

Am I mad going to a Audi dealer for oil and a filter? Can't find a genuine filter online I don't really like ordering from random ebay stores.

I always use Mann filters from GSF... in fact I have 5 spare new ones that ironically I can't use anymore as I have far too many cylinders now :)

Wouldn't say your mad but be prepared to pay over the odds when using dealers.

Have you thought of trying the parts request on here?...should be the cheapest dealer supply.

I always used Mahle, Mann or Bosch filters for my previous vag cars and never had a problem. VAG most likely don’t make their own filters and one of these companies make it for them.
I would go with a good brand and good oil like Castrol, Mobil or the shell helux.
loads of deals on eurocarparts, there’s always a discount code that knocks anything up to 50% off. No point overpaying for a fancy Audi box.

I use standard Bosch filter along with Motul Specific VW 502 00.

Castrol 5w30 was burning some oil but in past couple hundred miles since changing to Motul, haven't gone through oil.
 
Wouldn’t go to the stealers for oil myself, easily available elsewhere. But yes I have gone to them for genuine filters etc. Sure there are cheaper OEM quality options but you’re talking about a few extra quid.
