Hi owner of a 2003 audi s3.
Actually was my sons car he did join on this site the car reg is s3 Jpx.
He used the car neglected it and left it parked up for over a year.
I've taken it back to my body shop and am sorting it all out cos its a lovely car.
One issue I've got is the front tires were worn badly on the inner edges.
Which camber mounts are recommended nowadays? And who to purchase them from?

Since getting the car back to my bodyshop I have had the car serviced, removed the rear bumper to repaint it.
Refurbing the front alloys due to Afew kerb marks., luckily I've still got the same paint from when I refurbed them Afew years ago so no issues with colour not matching.
I've cleaned the brakes up, it has ecs brake discs and brembo callipers.
I've replaced a vacuum pipe and new maf.
Once I've done the bumper and wheels I'm going to give the whole car a buff and polish.
I'm looking into getting door blades made in fibreglass cos mine are tatty and they are quite heavy! So I'm planning on getting a spare set and repairing them so they are like new and getting a mold made from them.

I'm also looking for a good mechanic in Bolton. Car was previously looked after mechanicly by awesome gti

BE interested in how you make the door blades, also if you could make these well and in fibreglass you could make alot of money these are rare as rocking horse sh't now and as you know im sure, and have always been a weakness in design suffer from swelling etc.

Thankyou for sharing on here and welcome any pics also.

I've had fibre glass panels made in the past namely Honda crx mugen body kits.

Welcome to the forum mate.
If you do go down the root of making fibre glass door blades you could potentially have quite a lot of people looking some as it seems everyone's driver side door one goes.
Good luck with ur restoration

Any one know about alcohol injection?
Cleaning the scuttle panel and noticed a pump which says devil's own.
Ome pipe goes into the water inlet pipe.
Pipe goes into the windscreen washer bottle??!!
Two wires go into a valve type thing. And 3 wires to the interior.
Didn't even know the car had this on

So it's automatic? What power are people usually running when they use water/meth injection?

The car does drive perfect first time I drove it it felt brand new and just kept pulling.

These are the front brakes. Rear disks bells say ecs.
It's a lovely well sorted car.
Just really need to sort inner tire wear. Looking for recommendations for front camber mounts

welcome! yeah the cars are awesome, picked up a 3 series M sport for the wife a week or so back and honestly prefer my s3's. should have a NW meet up as theres a few of us up here ;)

I've got a e92 m3 and although it's a animal I used to nick the s3 when my son had it, I even said he can have the m3 as his weekend car and I'll have the s3 lol
Definitely keeping this s3, this winter my plan is underbody refresh powder coat subframes. Hopefully my clio 197 is off the ramp by winter... Been on the ramp 2 years!!

Nw meet sounds great, was wondering if there are any other 8l s3s in Bolton.
Used to see a noggy blue one and a black one with polished bbs wheels? Afew years ago. Not seen any lately

not sure about in bolton, but TJ and i are oldham/manchester and 20 mins away from a brew n bacon barm ;) i have seen 2 more S3's in the area recently but not sure if they are on the forums. TJ's is nearly on the road? [check his thread! ] and i have 2, a ebony black one and warrens [check his posts too ] that i picked up about 6 months back. difficult to explain, but by god do i love driving them both as they are so different to drive; greys refined and nippy, blacks loud and power :D

my lads started to steal my cars over his amg cla and is now thinking about buying a 8l too :p

How old are you guys? I'm 44
My s3 is refined and power.
Had a standard TT when I got the s3 and that was slow compared.
I tend to buy alot of cars and projects owning a bodyshop. The m3 and s3 are keepers tho. Oh and a old 300zx

It's fun yes but doesn't take long to get used to it and want more lol
Gave mine a quick polish with turtle wax ceramic polish.. Impressed!
Then took it out for a run today round the block Afew times haha. Bit of a knock knock knock coming from the front on a slow pull off and in reverse too. Slight crunch on turning too. Gonna get it on the ramp tomorrow and try find a cause.
Then I thought about the windscreen washer tank not being filled up ever, so I assume meth isn't working.
I'll have a go at testing it is it a matter of pulling a pipe and hitting the accelerator and seeing if water sprays out?

I think it only sprays on boost could be wrong but believe that's how it works.
Why did you use ur washer bottle for the meth and not a separate meth tank?

Previous owner fitted the meth.

Spoke to coolmist uk who recommended me to speak to hex code. Spoke to hex code he explained how to test it. Tested it at each point all working until I got to the nozzle. was blocked. Stripped it down cleaned it tested it just now and a filthy cool mist of water! So cleaning the tank out for now fresh screen wash. Next job separate meth tank

Last week had brand new audi top mounts and bearings fitted before I thought about going with camber mounts.. Oh well.
Top plates nice and tight when picked up from mechanic, just now while working under the bonnet noticed they have gone back and are lifted and that's probably were the noises are coming from

The mechanic got the car on the 2 poster ramp and couldn't find any play in anything. Decided to book it in for mot. Took the car for mot today,
Turned out both front rear wishbone bushes have alot of play there's a good 10mm between the metal pin and poly Bush.
Considered going with oem bushes but decided to stick with poly bushes due to rest of the car being poly bushed. so ordered them from euro car parts. Collect tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed it cures the knocking noise.
Any one use GAZ top mount camber plates? Or even silver project ones?
Are they ok for a evening /weekend car?

Quick

Possibly ours that you have seen around the area, Chadderton/ Failsworth.
Would definitely be interested in a meet up

@danny_dj3 thought they would be , don't see many around. I'm thinking of selling the black one of your lad fancies a look.

Drop me a PM if interested, color MFA clocks, 3 inch downpipe and intake, full system, RNS-E head unit. Very tidy rot free car only 3 owners

My lad who had this s3 before me has seen it now and wants another one now! So if anyone knows of any that run ok let me know, bodywork condition is unimportant cos I'd restore it.
Ashy how much do you want for yours if you are selling it?
