I am sorry if this has been asked before. If yes point me in the right direction.
I want to install electric folding mirrors on my A4 B8 2.0 tdi Aline. If any has done this can you let me know what do I need to make this happen.
Thanks in advance.

Yes it can be done, you need 2x folding mirror bases, more than likely 2 highline door controllers, associated switchgear and vcds coding.

No extra cables needed? Just plug and play. Except the vcds coding which I can do myself.

Plug and play if you have the correct door controllers and mirror bases. Don't be fooled or sucked in by cheap bases from mainland Europe as left hand drive bases provide the wrong angles.

Brand new RHD folding bases are around £200 each. They were £178 each when I bought them to retrofit in late 2015.

Is there a way to find out without striping the door cards out that I will need anything else. And as far as mirrors I am planning to buy them from people who are breaking Audi in the UK.

VCDS can tell you the version of door controllers.

I've removed my folding mirrors and selling them as s complete kit for the B8 if anyone reading this is interested;

- 2x folding mirror bases bought brand new by me from TPS

- 2x highline door controllers

- folding mirror knob and replacement door trim

Also comes with 2x gloss black mirror caps as I have returned my car to standard

PM me for a price if interested.

This may help a bit

The door modules in the link above are a H revision. poverty spec cars sometimes have to upgrade the door controllers.
There will be a thread on the net somewhere that details the controllers that support folding mirrors.
It's perfect. But by any chance do you know what control module I need. Or mine will be ok?

Hello guys.
Got such an issue after swapping module in passenger door. The rear door throwing error code there is no communication. Can’t lock the car as the rear passenger door won’t close. I check coding for both doors 42 and 52 module and it shows error on rear door and mirror heating. Both mirrors are heated, power folding and dimming. Any ideas?
When fitting old module back in everything works apart of passenger power folding mirror.
Passenger module it’s from A5:
S/N: 8T0959792P
H/W: 8T0959792G

If the passenger module is from an A5, was it a coupe? :whistle2:

I don’t know. The part was advertised to fit A5/A4 S5/S4 B8. I was looking for part number to fit with power folding mirrors. I reprogram it in long coding from A5 to A4 limousine/Avant so it should work.

I would have thought that if it was reprogrammed it would work too. Maybe a faulty part?

I will have look later on today and update if I was successful or fail.
