I’m after some advice, has anyone run the 8.5J (front) RS3 wheels all round ??

Ive read about people running 245/35/19 all round but not sure if that’s on on staggered wheels 8J & 8.J

thanks in advance

19x8.5J alloys with 235/35/19 tyres is the best flush look for an A3/S3 without spacers :) You can add some 5-8 mm spacers to the rear, but I like it without it.

Thanks for coming back to me mate that’s good to know, is it not abit stretched with 235 on a 8.5J ?

and no issues with rubbing on the rear ?

Usual stretch, not too big. No rubbing at all on moderately lowered car. There is a wheel thread with lots of pictures here on ASN. Check it out.

Ahhh wicked thanks I wasn’t aware I’ll have a look now, cheers mate

I had 8.5s with 235 35 19 Pzeros. hardly any stretch but enough to look OEM plus id say. that size wheel is ok for that size tyre anyway, not outside of its design limits.
I had it lowered on Eibach sportline and no rubbing whatsoever on a sport back, ET45 all round, what ET are the RS3 Rims? you many need spacers on the rear but remember that this will give more under steer so will need to space the front the same, If you end up with the equivelant of et 45 all round then the from rims will be flush with the front arches as mine were.

did you run genuine wheels or the after market style you can get as I noticed a a lot of them run an ET45

the genuine RS3 8.5J wheels run an ET53 so am I correct in thinking the higher the ET the further in they sit ?

I have replicas as I wanted the dish of the mk1 rotor, the RS3s look a little flat for my liking plus they were mega money 3 years ago when I bought them. It has to be said though that my car was lowered too and had no detrimentals having replicas on my S3, do buckles or cracks and the finish was as good as OE. anyway yes the ET53 will sit in 8mm further than mine hence you may need spacers to clear the shocks but if you do it will only need a few mm. the fronts might be ok with 235's not sure how the RS3 setup changed the offsets. but the rears would most likely need a small spacer, but again not 100%

Thanks for your advice mate, I may have to stick to the 8J all round set up rather than 8.5 although RS3 run them on the front

also alot of people snub replicas but I dont know why these days, you can get a good set of rotor 2 reps with ET45.
I am very very fussy about my car being OE and over serviced etc etc and was doubtful when getting the reps but having driven 30K on them with 2 sets of P zero's I would have no doubt again.

Yeah the quality of reps these days are so good …. I had Pret reps on my Golf GTD but the only reason I want OEM is because they are flatter faced compared to the slightly concave look on the reps … again just personally preference

Hi
If you have nice RS3 I can recommend to install nice 255 30 R19 fronts and 245 35 R19 rear :)
front: 19” 8,5j ET53, tires, 255/30/19
Back: 19” 8j ET49, tires 245/35/19
