Has anyone upgraded the windscreen washer jets to the fan type?
Sick of trying set these ones up... Spraying all over the place lol

Yes, I've changed mine. Work like a dream :D

I've used 1T0955986 but there are plenty of other ones that will fit.

Short movie on how to do it.

There seems to be a few part numbers for these type of washers, the ones most often mentioned here in ASN are:

Left - 4G0955987A
Right - 4G0955988A

Have a slightly different spray pattern from left to right, and I believe are designed for left hand drive cars. Swapping them over improved them drastically.

I tried another version with a VW part number 2KD955986 and Audi PN 5M0944986C that had the same spray pattern on both sides and the plug although identical in design had pins too large to fit. the plug.

Can anyone else confirm that 1T0955986 are a direct fit on a FL A3 and if they are same on each side?

Best ones go for then.... The above?

Not necessarily. But they are what most people here have mentioned as a direct fit. I have 2 gripes with these though. The one marked Right side is an L shaped fan, which seems a little odd and uneccissary. Moving it to the left side was an improvement but the asymmetry doesn't make sense to me... but then I'm a bit OCD so take that with a grain of salt. I didn't really like them if I'm honest, and went looking for a standard fan pattern, but after 2 attempts with the plug being the wrong pin size I just want back to the stock ones!

I've been tempted to get 2 left side fans, which I think would work pretty well... but don't experiment on my account.

My other gripe is that these part number use a torx bit for adjustment which is rather stiff, and it is fairly hard to find a bit to comfortably fit down there to make adjustments. Other styles use a slotted screw which is much easier.

And they all do spray just a little bit low, and if you adjust too high it just hits the underside of the bonnet.

Hope that's helpful and I'm sure others will chime in.

Part number please and where did you get them, much better than the stock ones. I can’t believe my Golf R had this type but my S3 doesn’t.

I got these for my 8V a while back.

Only issue is I would like to set them a fraction higher, but then the stream catches the bonnet edge. Still better than those originally fitted - at least they haven't clogged :thumbs up:

Those look a whole lot better than the PN I posted above. And these plug in, no problem and are heated?
Plug&play, heated without any special adjustments. I only had to tweak the spray height with the screw.
