Has anybody expirience with 4032 alloy pistons?
I have read alot of 4032 vs 2618 so i mostly know the pros and cons of each alloy on paper but would like to hear some real world exp.
Main goal would be longetivity street/highway driving 600-1000 km a week and many cold starts a day even with -15c temperatures in the winter and i dont want to hear any noise/slap from them. But at the same time would like to not baby it with ocasional 2step launch here and there and couple of times a year some dragstrip passes, all with AET 380 hybrid power levels.

I am looking at ZRP Supersport pistons :

As long as you keep away from Wossner pistons you should be OK. They are possibly the worst choice for a 1.8T. Several people had the same kind of issues all due to piston failure.
I rebuilt the engine with JE 2618 pistons as opposed to the Wossner 4032 and was possibly expecting the engine to be noisier. It's not any noisier than the Wossner pistons on cold start and I have never heard any piston slap.
Have you not thought of keeping the stock pistons. The 20mm pin Mahle stock pistons are very good and would handle the 380-400bhp that you would get from the engine. Don't go too low on compression, 9.25:1 is what I went for. Keep away from 8.5:1 as it makes the engine lazy off boost and just isn't required at the power levels you are looking at.

Thanks for your input.
Dont want to keep oem pistons as engine has done 250k and i dissasembled it and fourth cilinder has some surface marks on it so ideally am looking at .5 overbore to have a so to speak "new" engine.
Regarding your engine do you daily drive it? How many km has it run since rebuild and what exact model of JE pistons you used?
