Annoying when you see that Stafford Audi have 4 Carbon Black (3 x saloon, 1 x SB) for sale, and yet I bet they have customers with close to a 12 month wait time

Is it from them ordering when the books opened, or customer cancelled orders? Be interesting to know. And more over, why can the other dealerships that have sold with customers waiting can’t access these via Audi UK?

Can’t change cancelled orders they told me.

If the Tesla Performance pushes my buttons on Friday I’ll be ordering one for March delivery.
I’ll sell my RS3 when it arrives later this year.

Interestingly enough, I visited Stafford Audi over the weekend to enquire about the Daytona Grey CB Saloon. The gentleman that served me informed me that they are in fact orders from when the books opened, to which they ordered a lot. Believe it or not but they have a few more upcoming soon! A good Audi though, the salesman’s had extensive knowledge about the car/ordering system

Someone’s talking bull then.

When I spoke to Stafford at length he said they weren’t allowed to just willy nilly order RS cars any more for stock.

Must be the craft of a salesman
Unless they’ve exposed a dirty confession!

He also pointed out any cancelled orders were subject to a 2.5K penalty by Audi.
They weren’t allowed to re assign a car to another customer either.

As soon as (or if) prices return to normal levels they'd be straight on the phone to a customer down the waiting line...............................

I'm starting to hate the whole dealer network sh*t

Maybe that’s why 3 or there cars are already registered as “1 previous owner”. Originally assigned to family members of the staff and sold back to the dealership, where at that point they can set the price as they wish?

The minute a car is registered then it can be sold for whatever they want.

It won’t for a good while I bet.

I spoke to one dealer on AT and he had paid over the odds for a Launch edition just to sell on at 68k

Be interesting to hear your thoughts on that one and how they compare to mine, see if you can take a Performance version out, they're quite brutal

plenty of time to get bored of the TM3 before the RS3 arrives ... or run out of charge lol
that battery range won't be lasting long in any case with all the launches and accelerating Sean will be doing
Just hope he likes driving his car in winter wearing a coat & scarf so as not to use the heater :tearsofjoy:

I still think it's a car change away, but it is tempting, £4 per 100 mile, no road tax, no servicing, I think there are still some things to sort out regards charging and one point that I feel a lot are missing, I keep hearing comments like ''10-80% charging in under half an hour, enough time to take a break, have that second cup of coffee etc''
How annoyed would you be waiting 15 minutes for someone to move their 'charged car' from a charge point? I get annoyed when someone starts faffing around in their car after filling up with fuel

I often park in the EV spaces Mike as more often than not there is no one using them! Plus they tend to be closer to the shop entrance too.

I thought my review was pretty honest to be fair, with points I liked and didn't, living with one in these early days might prove different though

Positives
Acceleration......from any speed, it's pretty much instant
Handling quite good, certainly not an understeer monster and didnt need ESC switching off like I found the Golf 8r did in mid summer
Very quiet
Very little road noise
Seats ok
No rattles or squeeks...(low mileage demo though)
No road tax
No servicing
2-3month wait for a new car
4 year warranty on car, 8 on batteries (warranty to 75% of life at 8 years or 100,000 miles)

Negatives

A little soul less? It didnt stir me looking at it, and I didnt look back when I walked away after I parked it back at Tesla
Around £1000 to get a decent home charge wall box
Not convinced on big central display, needed reading glasses to see any of the controls
Needs a basic HUD or speed display/dash in front of driver
Too fussy needing everything through the display, (glovebox opening/steering wheel reach/mirrors etc)
Depreciation compared to RS3?
Lots of talk around quality of paint/panel gaps, it looked ok, but you tend to find these faults when washing the car
Lots of better battery's coming within the next few years

General

One pedal driving takes a little getting used to
I found it quite hard to keep a steady speed, maybe engine noise feel related?
I would like to see a 25,000 mile one to see how it's survived quality wise
Tesla garages dont do secondhand, they have a central stock and about 3 outlets, it will cost you £200 to get one brought closer, redeemable if you buy or not

They reckon just under £4 per 100 mile, an RS3 at 33mpg is going to cost £20 for the same distance, even if elec prices double it's still £12 cheaper per 100 miles

The only thing that may sway me to keep to the RS3 order is the Torque vectoring

At least with Tesla you can use designated charge locations around the UK.
Otherwise yeah if you're on a long journey and stop off for charging to find it in use already, that will increase the wait, but then someone may be waiting already so you have to wait longer or drive on and "hope" the next charger will be free or working ......... err no thanks
I will be using one of the many free petrol pumps and be gone in 5 minutes lol ;)

I received this email today from Audi Executive Office in regards to a complaint I made as orders with the same spec and build week as me have been built and delivered, and cars with build weeks after mine have also been built and delivered.

Audi UK are unable to comment on individual orders and would refer you to the Audi Centre you have made your order through; The latest and most up to date information available is provided to them as soon as it is released by Audi Germany.

In response to your comments on the price set by the Audi Centre’s, as we discussed on our phone call, this is at the dealers' discretion to set the price of their stock.

We are looking into all delayed orders as a matter of urgency and they are being worked on as quickly as they can, it is in our best interests too to provide vehicle orders to customers as soon as we possibly can. Audi AG, the manufacturer of the vehicle is working tirelessly to resolve this and the vehicle’s will be shipped to the UK as soon as it is possible to do so.

Please liaise with your selling Audi Centre for further information.
