Hi guys,

4G C7 avant - mythos black.

I'm looking for a bit of advice after my little accident !
I reversed a little too far into a parking space the other evening. I reversed over a 6" tree stump. Obviously bent the diffuser on the way in. Ripped it off my car on the way out. Gutted.

The diffuser is now not connected by screws at the bottom, and the brackets that connect to the bumper are snapped half way. The diffuser has unclipped on the top section. I haven't taken it fully apart yet as cant get hold of wheel ramps until later, so don't know what else is broken.

But does anybody know if there are any other models where the bumper and/or diffuser are interchangeable? Saloon, S6, etc.
I'm hoping i can remove the diffuser and bumper and plastic weld the brackets and then use washers to repair the cracked tabs at the bottom etc etc.

Thanks

A good body shop specialising in plastic repairs may be able to help you out.

Also checkout eBay, you can usually find bumpers & diffusers on there, though you will likely have to re spray, but an option if yours in not repairable :hi:

Thanks, I've looked on ebay and wanted to check if bumpers from any other models would also fit. I don't really want to have to respray as most body shops will say (IME) they have to spray the rear panels aswell to blend in. Nothing wrong with that paint !

Think the key differentiation will be whether you have an SE or and S-Line as there may be some variation. The S-Line diffuser is certainly different to the SE and I think the S6 and RS6 are different again. Not sure but it may also be the case that the saloon and Avant bumpers are interchangeable

Well I got the diffuser off. Looks like that can be reused. The holes in the middle have been expanded or broken but the rectangular snap in bits along the top all seem ok.

However I am not sure about the bumper. These two bits have snapped clean off.

The little tabs that hold the rectangular bits from the diffuser are all there but I think some have lost their strength.

Mine is just the SE. Didn't fancy the price (of tyres on the S-Line) lol.

As a side conversation, did you find your 2015 A6 Avant 2.0 TDi Ultra doing DPF cleans at the most stupid times? The last 3 times I've done over 100 mile journeys the stupid car has started DPF cleans within 40 miles of this journey ending. Once before Id even done 8 miles. It does annoy me that it doesn't ask if its convenient to do it (not every journey is 20 minutes long), nor does it actually warn you its doing one. First thing I notice (if i forget to check revs) is the fans are full blast when i turn the engine off.

Turns out the brackets that are snapped connect to the car rather than the bumper.

2016 A6 C7.5 Avant
Diffuser: 4G0.807.521.AA/.T scratched where the tree stump went under it.
Bracket: 4G9.807.348.A or 330A
Bracket: 4G9.807.347.A or 329A

Why do all the bits have two part numbers?

I can't find the brackets online so will call the main dealer in the week.
