Cheers for the heads up but I think most on here are in it for the long haul now mate l for one wouldn't touch a ex demo launch edition with a barge pole after waiting as it stands now nearly 10 months in

Just had a look at the Audi website RS3 configurator. Interesting to note that it no longer throws a message up about lead times being delayed and that they’ve also reintroduced the custom paint pallet option.

Wow that has flown by .
Sure has mate waiting aint really the problem it's the dreadful uncertainty of not knowing when the car will actually be built most likely won't be built till 2023 as its jumped to build week 49 now ...that gets my back up that does ...then l want to sell when l think about it ...no offence to all that have ordered before me and received their cars but that's fooking annoying ....as well

I have been given an update from my dealer. He spoke to Audi UK who advised that my build week of 08 2023 was pulled because the order book for model year 22 (MY22) has now closed and although I ordered in 2021 with a MY22, the model year for my car will now be MY23 (usually there are a few tweaks to the car so hoping this does not mean some kit is removed!). I was sent a copy of a table showing when MY22 closed and MY23 opened for all audi models and the A3/RS3 shows that MY22 has closed and MY23 is open with expected start of construction (subject to change) being week 25 ( this week/next week - although it does not say whether this means June 22 or June 23). I live in hope that it means this week/next week and that the revised build date will be similar or moved forward, but knowing my luck, it will be June 2023 to allow for the backlog to be cleared and if so, a build week of at least June 2023 or later will be allocated. I was told that a build week is expected next week. Will let you know once i have the detail.

Chin up, I ordered mine Aug 2021, got it last week, well worth the wait, I still remember the massive smile on my grid when I floored the demo car in the dealership, so does the sales rep. Keep the faith well worth waiting for

Yes, enjoyed my test drive too but if it means waiting 2 years from the point of order, it may change my mind as I am underwriting the depreciation in my existing car until the new one turns up. Good to see that some of the real customers are enjoying their car :smug:

Agreed, I lost 6K on trade in value in a year, still I have always wanted an Audi RS, when you wait you pay for what you want. 6K see the smile on my face when I press the accelerator pedal, modestly of course to keep in line with the law

So my build week was confirmed as next week (26) so I wonder if I get the last MY22 or first MY23? Who knows but knowing my luck it will be the obsolete model - if I ever get it!!
Of course that might be a good thing if they remove even more things

I personally couldn't wait that amount of time for a car it would drive me insane . How often are you getting updates from the dealership I can imagine its not that often . I''am looking forward to seeing the pictures of it when it finally turns up :)

Don't get any updates at all unless l email him....even he sounds depressed reading between the lines ....probably because he's sick to death telling all his customers the same thing .....so l dont bothet him anymore its something l can't visualise until it turns.....l may flip it and then order the facelift a year later another 17 months won't make any difference lol

Hopefully will stay the same unlike the RSQ3 which the dealer has advised is now missing a few more items ! I got a horrible feeling that MY23 will start production week 25 2023 which is why my build week was pulled and hasn't been reissued yet :sob: Good you have the confirmed build for next week and not too long before delivery :smug:

What is this "getting Updates" you speak of?
My "Supplying Dealer" (oh the irony as I write that) Doesn't even respond when I request an update now. Having been a Salesman in the Car industry I do have sympathy. My Wrath largely resides with Audi UK & their occasional condescending Bulletins.......

It’s interesting about the variation in dealerships and I guess it is down to the quality of the salesman. I bought my S3 in 2014 from Inchcape Audi in Macclesfield. Been a loyal customer ever since and to be honest, they have been ok up to the point I wanted to order an RS3. Had to push them to get back to me on queries and the salesman I was dealing with really couldn’t seem to be *****. They also made a big deal about the £1k deposit for a new RS3 being non-returnable. They have now lost me as a customer probably forever.

On to Audi in Crewe. Salesman (Will) could not do enough for me. Brilliant with updates to the point where he actually contacted me when my car turned up on the transporter today, and has sent photos. He’s a real enthusiast, plus the fact that the dealership seem to have gone above and beyond in looking after me by allowing me to have first dibs on what was a cancellation.

I’m popping along tomorrow to have a quick look at the car (albeit not prepared or PDI’d as yet) and arrange my collection day etc. Hoping it will be Tuesday.

Guess it’s all subjective and experiences good or bad will determine how we feel about a particular dealership but for me so far, can’t speak highly enough of Audi in Crewe.

And did I mention………I’m a little bit excited!!

Please get the valetors not to touch it, absolute sin letting them loose on that paint! I watched the Tyneside Audi demo get cleaned and then dried with one of those plastic blade things

I’ll mention tomorrow. It’s booked in for just over a weeks time at the detailers for full stage 1 correction and new car ceramic protection etc. Following that, nobody other than me or the detailers will ever touch it!
