Bobby Singh A4 3.0 TDI build thread

Car has done now 6k @ 600hp so it was time for a oil change and noticed the front discs and pads were finished.
EBC front discs lasted 20k basically but they've been bent for a while.
This time I went with ATE from Macan turbo disc's and stuck with EBC yellow stuff pads:

Hello nice work, I'm looking at several different routes , and trying to figure out brand and gas or diesel.
I must ask I noticed almost every Audi model with 3.0tdi seems to have different tuner out put, the q7 seems to have the best stage 2 tune , and some reason the q5 has the lowest ? Ok so why? And which euro diesel is the best ? Best to mod? Most hp and nm/lbs?
I've never had a diesel other then america truck , definitely not the same.
My other interests are Mercedes 4.7l or 5.5l with tune easy 700hp and 700 lbs , varies of course. But the diesel is such a sleeper , love wagons but an option here in us.
Any thoughts?

Hi Outputs depend on fuel pump and turbo size. Injectors are not the bottleneck with stock turbos. Stock 2260 / 2060 on a 3.0 tdi can make 310 to 340hp and upto 800nm.
Bitdi’s can make over 400hp / 820nm Regarding the benz related questions I can’t help with those.

Do you like the Audi 3.0 TDI or BMW 3.0 TDI?
I'm not sure but I don't think USA has the bitdi (if I'm wrong correct me).
Nothing better then a suv TDI , beating a Camaro or mustang . Again I like sleepers.
Do you have any idea why the q7 tunes produce more hp/nm then the q5 , is it not the same engine . Your more then welcome to pm me
Thanks

I prefer Audi but Bmw can get decent results too
No idea which engine codes and gearbox types you are comparing for q5 and q7.
obviously heavier the car means you will hit egt limiter sooner and therefore need to keep that in mind when tuning.

I believe the q5 is the 245hp with 7 speed

Hi Bobby

Im new to tuning world, I wanted to tune my Audi Q5 3.0 TDi engine exactly same like yours audi CCWA, so far I done stage 1 remap in celtic tuning where showed 288hp, I went like that to Santa Pod Race and meet Mark Fuller with his Audi S5 over 500hp he said you are best person to talk to build stage 2. I just wonder if you have spare minute to advise me what I can do next.

I just removed dpf and installed down pipe, also waiting for straight pipes so can install them instead back boxes.

Kind Regards
Sebastian Grosiu

Hi - I got your email - I will reply back in detail

Thanks

Been a while since I've had the propshaft support bearing. Managed to get hold of a used propshaft - got all the rust off it and gave it a paint.

Cut off the old bearing and trimmed the rubber off leaving the base:

Now just need to find time to install it :)

Seen a post on FB a few weeks ago where one of these was used on a MK1 TT. The factory item does allow some front to rear movement of the prop shaft where these seem not too allow much movement at all.
I think they initially made these for RWD cars which possibly don't have the same amount of front to rear movement in the prop. Have you gone street or race for the rubber compound.

Hey Karl I went for the street rubber - its still a daily so want it comfortable.
I think the current one is a bit bent as I'm getting a unwanted vibration at certain speed.
I really need to stop launching this car.

Hi, I have a 3.0 tdi capa with a big turbo and cp3 r90 tuned for 340km 730nm. What injectors to use to go further? 057130277BE ? maybe some others? I will add that my current ones are suitable for replacement (057130277AG).

Hi Bobby, Not sure you have seen this only posted up around an hour ago. Maybe you could contact Jamie and arrange a little OG battle.

No idea how much air your turbo is pushing so impossible to answer these random questions.
CAPA injectors when pushed hard can make 400hp but you'll be EGT limited in higher gears or fit ccwa injectors which are slightly larger. Better still a set of custom 100% plus which will out flow the turbo.

Hi Karl - I must have received 15 messages about this tonight :)
Once I get the injectors sorted I wouldn't mind something like Car wow or yes OG battle.

Hope you are keeping well.

Hi Bobby, I've just sent you an email.
I saw the same clip and that's exactly why I'm on this thread, I've got 3.0 tfsi S4 (stage 2) and as much as i will miss the scream of the supercharger i won't miss the MPG.

This HAS to happen Bobby!!

No disrespect at all to Jamie, his channel is doing great and puts out some awesome content.. but 650k subs Vs 7.6M subs on carwow, i know which one I'd want my car on :)

Either channel will do mad publicity for your business :racer:

Hi everyone, I have a an Audi A4 B8 3.0 Tdi Avant Sline auto CCWA engine and wondered what you would recommend I do next for more power, I can't afford to spend mega money. I currently have the dpf gutted Egr blanked and both mapped out, a K&N cone filter, Darkside developments turbo hose running around 320 bhp and 700nm not had a gearbox map just engine remap and then egr and dpf mapped out with more power. Thanks for any suggestions

Drop me a mail I got plenty of options available and all parts in stock
You'll need some budget but then next will release a real 330hp / 800nm

This car loves eating discs -

Support bearing added

Seems to have a vibration at 50mph since installing this but I think something must be bent or maybe needs more distance between the bracket and body - still on going this issue

Changed the top arms on both sides

Did you mark the splines when you seperated the prop? Theres a weight welded somewhere where they balance them. If size wise they are like for like can't be much else. My nephews well happy with your tune BTW Bobby! Its now as fast as mine :(

Hi Paul the carrier is a two part item so you cut the old one off and put this over the bearing. You can't actually split this prop shaft - I tried some years ago and posted some pictures.
I might get the prop balanced to CV joints checked.
What car did your nephew have?

Ah my bad yours is a B8, forgot, don't know about them. I changed bearing on my B7, not supposed to be possible but I did it and solved the vibration so...
We both got the B7 3.0TDI avants, picked it up from yours last september. Will have to get em dyno'd sometime, mine made 289 at AMD essex 7 years ago so would be interesting to know before I scrap it thanks to mr Kahn lol.

Even with my tuning on a BV50 car I wouldn't expect anything more than 290hp / 680nm (real). Some of these b7's have close ratio boxes which obviously helps getting up to speed.
