Dilemma - TTS or Cayman S

If this was written to me, then who knows, I haven't driven TT-S. As for Cayman's superior speed, it's not that fast (nor is TT-S, but the difference as I believe won't be that big you're making it). For example, latest Fifth Gear had what, 135i and Cayman (not the S though), with Plato...

Dilemma - TTS or Cayman S

Yes, and 911 is a Beetle. You gotta be kidding me with your comments. I'll just ignore rest of your reply, since you haven't apparently even driven it.

Dilemma - TTS or Cayman S

I think this quote sort of tells the whole story, how much you actually know about the new TT, or if you've actually even driven it, I doubt that. You're just taking your old 'TT experience' and converting it to the new model. They're not the same car. Although old TT was certainly 8L, the...

    R8 diesel

Well, to be honest, I was rather disappointed. Mercedes is providing these numbers with their turbocharged petrol engines, and even they are limited, since the gearbox can't take enough torque. Since same torque can be achieved with petrol, what's the point of diesel? And whoever said that...

Don't burn the tyres, they last quite a bit longer in the motorcycles as well ;)

As I have no idea what's the situation in the UK, I'll just share my experience. Personally, I also paid my A3 in a 'balloon payment' way (hopefully I understood the term correctly ;)). However, at least in Finland, it's actually becoming cheaper for me this way, than paying the whole amount in...

A3 TDI vs Golf GT (TSI)

No, the 2,0TDI DPF on this forum is the old one with PD-technology. A3/A6/A4(B7)'s 2,0TDI is different engine than the one in the new A4 (B8). - Yak

A3 TDI vs Golf GT (TSI)

Huh? They just did.. 2,0 TDI, just in common-rail form this time. Haven't driven it yet, but at least it doesn't rattle as much in the new A4. Personally I'm thinking which one to chose, 1,8TFSI or 2,0TDI if I'll pick up new A4 (I think it was awesome looking machine, but I haven't driven it...

A3 TDI vs Golf GT (TSI)

Then again, bikes are serviced every 7500 kilometers or so. At least I think mine has about that interval. Then again, I don't think bike engines would like to operate at -30C ;). Never tested though, and I don't think I will either.. But I'd still like to see higher revving engines in the...

A3 TDI vs Golf GT (TSI)

What was the point? Why not taking 2,0TFSI in the compare instead of 1,4TSI (which Audi won't see in the A3) ? Talking about same price anyway. Audi is using 1,8TFSI, there's no point introducing 1,4TSI to the line up, it's not as refined as 1,8TFSI. Also, 1,8TFSI's CO2-readings are lower...

De-Icer - Which One Do You Use?

Yep, I use the scraper myself. There's just nothing else that would work on the real ice, otherwise I would need a hose to clean up the windscreens, not to mention unable to enter the car at the end of the trip. Personally, it takes a minute or two to clean up even the worst ice from the car...

    Auxilary Heater

Webasto & Eberspacher are basically same products, just competing manufacturers. Yes, they work, and of course they make smoke if you want heat. How do you burn something without smoke? In the motion, it's turned off after certain point. Not to mention, your car makes a lot of smoke (well...

    Auxilary Heater

mm, there's actually three types of extra heaters available to A3, at least here. Well, one is diesel only which heat the incoming air with electricity, then there's webasto which burns fuel to warm-up the car before you start it, and while you're running it (the first few miles for example)...

test drive in a BMW 120D M SPORT

How different views people have. Personally I liked the engine, it had a N/A petrol feeling (apparently you didn't like that part ;)), but rest of the car just doesn't live up to it. It's not even that special to drive in my opinion. And I'm not alone, I've read a lot of bad reviews from...

    Alpina D3 is ordered!

Ouh nouh, bowfer buys a BMW ;). Grats on new car anyway, it's always refreshing to try something else. And Alpina, well, it's not something common to say, irritating sometimes to see A3 or normal 3-series on every corner (they can't be that bad cars if people buy them so much, but still)...
