Funny you should ask this question as believe it or not a 'Z' in the number plate is statistically more likely to be involved in an accident, which is why I steer clear of anything with a z in it, you probably think I'm nuts but there you go!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the BRE engine was ok, as in, didn't have the oil pump problem? Seem to remember reading it was more '05/'55 plates with a different engine code (can't remember which) that was more susceptible to the oil pump problem?
Sorry to butt in on your post but glad you asked this question, I've had an '06 avant now for 5 years (143 bhp) only an SE not an s-line.
I'm just about to take the plunge and shell out for a b8, really looking forward to it... However, I had my heart set on a '59 plate s-line 2.0 tdi (170)...
How would you say that meyle compare to lemforder, by the sound of previous posts I'd rather buy lemforder but would rather not pay their prices! So how would you say that these compare to genuine parts? I do try to keep the car as original as poss but on this occasion and how old the car is...
Yeah brilliant,
Thanks, so lemforder it will be then! been looking for a complete lemforder suspension kit but only seem to be able to find separate individual arms etc
Thanks for your reply though
Luke
Sorry for being such a 'thicko' but I'm assuming parts like these audi don't actually make them themselves? For instance the suspension on my car at the moment (from the factory) could possibly be Lemforder ?? It's comments like posts #25, #27 & #28 that worry me, hence the fact i've always...
I've been wanting to get a whole new suspension kit for my '06 a4 avant.
Ever since I got the car EVERY part I have ever had to replace has been bought from an Audi dealership, (fitted by good friend) mainly for piece of mind but also as in my mind i think audi parts 'must be superior'? maybe...
I guess if you want a cheap version (like me!) this one below is from the same seller.......

I've ordered one, at that price it's not gonna be the end of the world if it's not the greatest, I guess as long as it tells me what the fault is it saves me getting ripped off from the dealer!
...Volkswagen VAG Code Reader Diagnostic Scanner Com Reset Airbag ABS | eBay
I was surprised how cheap it was but being so cheap is it a load of s**t?
Anyone have any thoughts/have one like Iit themselves? I dont have any faults at present but I know audi charge around £100 just to diagnose...
Am going to be replacing all the bushes on my '06 avant, just wondering what people's thoughts were on 'poweflex' bushes, I've heard they are better than audi genuine parts, I would ALWAYS choose genuine parts over anything else but seems these might be better??
Any feedback would be appreciated...
...would take it back to the garage and demand your money back or else (as a threat, initially) you will be seeking legal advice! Shocking doesn't even cut it, I'd be absolutely F****** fuming!! (Well I already am...lol and it ain't even my car)
Really hope you get it sorted, without too much...

How much were they Scotty? Decided to go for the contis next myself, still got a bit of tread left on my pirellis... I considered getting the contis before the snow/winter arrives but still gotta get a few more quids worth out of the pirellis!
Is it ok to use a product on the rear window? (Heated element) As much as I've wanted to I've never used anything on the rear screen other than water. I'm sure I've read somewhere that you shouldnt??
I've been using pirelli p zero rosso's now for the last couple of years and have been more than happy with them in the wet or dry. My mechanic mate always sings my praises for putting 'decent tyres' on my car, he says the exact same thing about knowing the people who look after their car by what...
