@Migwire Thanks, that's useful. Might just ask the dealer at some point and see what they say.
Out of interest how are you finding the 40TFSI 204PS? Had mine since November and only done a few thousand miles in it.
Economy is fairly terrible around town but managed to get 50mpg on a longer run...
Came here to ask the same question. Similar model but the 40TFSI 204PS model.
The manual just says 504.00, 508.00 or 511.00 for petrols, no more detail than that.
Well I can confirm my car is not only doing this but also there is no option in the updated MMI (touch-screen, no wheel) to disable it.
My next question is whether this can be turned off via VCDS as I'd buy it just for this tbh!
I'll have a look but I'm sure I checked everywhere and couldn't see any option like that. Maybe they've removed it in later revisions?
Traditional stop/start is indeed for when you come to a halt and that's what I switch off every time I start the car as I despise it.
I was just shocked at...
So today, whilst on the motorway, I noticed that, if I lifted and coasted, the gear indicator would first vanish (i.e. 'D7' becomes just 'D') which usually indicates the clutch has been disengaged and you're 'coasting' then, a second or so later, the green stop/start symbol would appear next to...
Ok well some progress.
It seems that, if I pull up to a stop, keep my foot on the brake and then turn the engine off, it puts the parking brake on and the gear selector into 'P'.
I've not done this enough to work out if this is reliable or not just yet.
Also doesn't seem to do it after having...
Well now I have no idea what's going on.
I tried keeping my foot on the brake when turning off the ignition and nowt.
Then, for the first time ever today, I pulled onto the drive and put it in P and the handbrake immediately applied. First time it's ever done that!
In my old S3, when I stopped the car, put it in P, turned off the ignition and removed the key, it would automatically apply the parking brake.
Together with the auto-drive-off function, this meant I very rarely had to even touch the parking brake switch.
My new A4 doesn't seem to do this when...
So I've taken delivery of my new A4 Avant today but have a question about the sound settings.
Whilst I can adjust the bass, treble, sub settings and so forth, these appear to be 'global' and not on a per-source basis.
Is this correct?
Rather annoying if so as I'd like to tweak music sources...
Spec is an A4 Avant S-Line 40 TFSI S-Tronic with Comfort & Sound pack.
Afraid I can't help on specifics as it's a lease so I can't check anything directly with Audi or the dealer and don't have access to build weeks etc.
The lease company got periodic ETA estimates from the dealer which they...
My A4 is a lease so I don't have tracking information unfortunately and only have their estimated "arrival at dealer" date to go on. This has been slipping slowly and is currently 6th Sep but god knows whether it'll stay that way.
I've also had a couple of emails (a few weeks back, ended up in...
My new A4 is a lease, arriving in the next few weeks.
I basically treat PCP and leasing interchangeably as I'd only ever give the car back at the end of a PCP agreement anyway so they're much the same to me. Just a question of which is cheaper.
This time leasing was the best option and no PCP...
From memory, I think you have to close the window, then release the switch, then move it to the close position again and hold it for a couple of seconds.
I drove diesel company cars for 17 years but that was mainly due to P11D tax being so much lower.
I've been driving petrols for over six years now and have recently ordered an A4 Avant 40TFSI (204PS).
Diesel only makes sense nowadays if you're doing lots of long-distance driving.
Personally I'd stick with the PS4s (or similar) and, if you're concerned about winter performance, get a separate set of dedicated winter tyres on some spare wheels.
Might seem expensive but the all round CrossClimate type tyres strike me as a 'jack of all trades, master of none' compromise...
Hi,
So I have an order in since last month. It's a straight PCH lease and a factory order which originally had an ETA of July.
I've just been informed that the ETA is now start of September, which doesn't bother me, but does raise the question of model years.
With delivery in September, is it...
Personally I'm less concerned about the price of the cam(s) and more about finding a good, reputable installer who'll do a good job and not screw the car up.
