Your experience exactly mirrors my own.
I acquired my 8V in March (Factory rear sensors and Virtual Cockpit) and was unable to get the visual display on the MMI to work (I have VCDS ) because it’s a Facelift.
I also discovered that the reversing beep volume (even on high) is about 1/3 the...
Thanks , I shall check that out!
The more that I think about it though, the more I think it occurred whilst I was fiddling about with Carista , I ended up running Scandinavian DRLs (accidentally) for a few days :screamcat:.
When the fuel filter was replaced, was the full bleed of air out of the system ( using VCDS or similar tool) carried out?
I changed my fuel filter for the first time a few months ago and the VCDS bleed cycle took about 3 minutes to complete, accompanied by lots of gurgling sounds as the fuel...
Thanks but where would I find those logs?
I couldn’t activate my horn beep on locking with VCDS so used Carista to activate it instead.
There is a chance that I did something in Carista to deactivate the cornering lights but the subscription to that has expired.
I looked in long coding helper on...
When acquired , my Facelift 8V Sportback had working turning/cornering lights.
I’m referring to the small all-weather light that sits underneath and outboard of the main LED projector within the headlight and know that they were working as whenever I reversed up the driveway at night and applied...
This is about the best that I currently have…..
Having had a print-out from Audi with all the fitted equipment codes I now see that the cast alloy wheels are described as “Matte Titanium look”.
I’ve only ever experienced cooking models, never anything fancy enough as an S3 :glee:.
My TT may be quattro but it’s a heavy old barge!
Since the A4 B5 with copper washer I’ve only experienced the steel sump plugs with non-removable washer.
My latest 8V has a steel sump with sump plug with...
AFAIK there’s only 1 sump bolt for the latest models though ISTBC on that, it’s great if you do have a replaceable washer!
When I did the first oil change on my mums 2018 A1 ( this was at 3K miles & 1 yr old) the factory sump plug was painted black ( it matched the sump!) and had the captive...
The sump plug comes complete with a steel washer that isn’t removable so the official factory line is that it gets replaced each time it is removed.
Many don’t always follow this though and re-use the sump plug, as long as the washer isn’t scored etc.
Update, bought an hours Erwin access only to find “data not available” for my car :frown:.
I printed off some workshop manual stuff so all was not lost.
Ended up calling into my local Audi dealer this morning
and after asking nicely they gave me 5 printed pages of PR codes.
:cocksure:
Once I’ve...
Thanks , yes have come across that video.
I think that’s it’s fairly well documented now though that with the FL models you have no option but to fit the button & loom to get auto hold to work.
Thanks, I might do just as you say with Erwin!
I am a bit puzzled though as having looked on a version of Etka I can see no reference to a lowered version of sport suspension with regard to springs ,only a sports version and my TT (which the PR codes describe as having S-line suspension) also...
I’ve had a look and can’t really find the answer, but apologies if it’s been asked before…..
Have just bought a 2018 Black Edition A3 Sportback and on the test drive prior to buying it I thought that the suspension was remarkably civilised, I had been expecting it to be really hard!
My previous...
Thanks for clarifying.
I’m resigned to having to fit the actual button and loom etc.
It will have to wait for 12 months though as my car is under warranty and I don’t want to fiddle with things until the warranty has expired.
I don’t think that you can beat silver rims on a car.
I just don’t see the attraction of dark/ black alloys as they just look perpetually dirty.
My new daily has Anthracite Black Edition 10 spokes and whilst they look lovely in my mind they’d look so much better a nice silver.
