being with Ben in the car when that happened I can say that was some scary moment, and even more as we were approaching the round about rather quickly.....
thanks guys,
Just found out that I am gonna have problems importing it in France so it wont be worth it
also found some in France which are slighty more expensive, about 3k.
So I may go down that route but not sure
As you may have guessed by now I am looking to buy a lhd porsche.
as things go it has to be 4wd as snow will be quite common where I'll be (yes poor me : the alps! )
I've tested a 993 C4 yesterday which was perfect BUT I just cant cope with the interior which is stuck in the 70's!!! (call me a...
I've got exactly the same list except the M5 (too heavy) and the old boxster (no real porsche for me) and then also an M3 E30 and Exige
I have to admit that a 993 or a Exige/Elise have a clear edge now...
I may go for the cheaper options (15k for VX, M3, S2000, Caterham) only to spend the...
Did you fuel it up just before the fault appeared?
I am asking as Spratty who bought my car called me the following day he got it because he could not start the car because of the emission light coming on (he was well off as you can imagine).
It never happened to me, so Spratty called audi...
...while but could not find one in good condition in my budget. Budget is now even lower so wont even bother now
You may already have but check if the gearbox has been upgraded. I heard that they were made from renault and were cr*p. I may have a video of a guy explaining all that.
will look...
Hey keep us posted on how you get on as when I'll be in france I am gonna do exactly the same
thing
have already found a dealer over there who's specialized in 205 1.9gti!!
They have some great examples with 50k miles on it and all for 3 to 4 grand!!
they look real good!!
have you noticed the reg on 2 of them:
WO PF 17 and 62. could be some tests done by audi for the new S3?
they also have the same alloys and are lowered...
because their engineers are better?
no seriously I dont know.
I mean over 100bhp/liter means a very well tuned up engine going to high rpms.
Maybe the straight 6 is just better/more reliable that the narrow 6 of the VAG group??

I know NA engines are probably faster but as they are more progressive, they really dont feel as quick as a similar turbo car. IMO you need a good 300bhp+ NA engine to make it feel exciting erm..... in a straight line Im not one for potentially wrapping my car round a lampost for the...
If I remember correctly, mine was much heavier : 1577kg as per label on service book!!!!
the unladen weight is 1475kg I think (?)
anyway "old" S3 or 3.2 that is too much weight
the new S3 will have to go on a diet if they want it to stay competitive
I really think the new S3 should be NA and based on the 3.2
the improvement then should be on
weight let say 2 to 300kg less
a few engine tweeks to get the power to around 300bhp
proper adjustable sport suspension and ARB
better supporting seats
better/slicker gearbox
I know they wont but if...

i think a s3 is quicker than a 3.2,especially a chipped one.The in-gear times would destroy a 3.2.

That's a little bit "CTR-behaviour" for me and I think that's never gonna happen in real world with cars so similar
I have driven 4 types of S3's: standard 210 and 225...
had changed to the osram on mine (bought from powerbulbs as well with the free bleue vision philips lights that I could not be bothered to fit - I still have them actually) and did not find much difference (didnot have xenons). Only a little bit whiter but the light does not go further than...
Mine were quite bad also and I always wondered if that could be a design fault.
Also I think the front are suffering more from heat and that could lead to some "colour" difference with the rear, but yeah I never found that reassuring
Never took it to the dealer tho, as I know they would have...
