Hibiscus Red TQS - New Car, New Project, cars been here before though.

Well well well…….something I never ever thought would come along at this time. I said since I saw one at Oulton Park last year, that I would only even swap this for a B7 DTM in Sprint Blue. I’ve looked, and I’ve looked but condition mileage and price vary extremely wildly. But…..I’ve found one...

Came across something else I’d always wanted as well. A Eurotuning carbon fibre rear spoiler. Almost a duckbill type spoiler, but not quite. There wil those who like the B5 with a clean bootlid, but I’ve always like them with a bit of a spoiler at the back, but not one of the 90’s OEM spoilers...

Managed to find am APR Carnonio kit for sale as well, for the B5 TQS. I went through a phase of trying to obtain one of these, but realised most of these were in the US, so I gave up. Then this one popped up, so rude not too. Love the way they look and it is sealed off from hot air too.

Went for a visit to see James Plant, and his awesome B5 TQS. He’s done a very good Touring Car tribute car, which I love. Knocking out nearly 500bhp, fully built engine. But James was good enough to let me have his Rieger front splitter which he no longer required as he fitted a full touring car...

Bit of saving up, and I went with the getting wheels refurbished again, by the same place. My other half always said I should have had them done darker, so darker it was. Hmmmm, I’m not sure though if they are too dark for me. I’ve never liked black wheels, and these are little too close to...

I’ve not posted on here in a while now. But I have been getting on with things. The car was running well after the above tests found a bad breather hose (another one). I cannot find a replacement hose though, so the fix will have to stay. Unfortunately, using the car for work, on my way home...

lumpy idle / misfire is fixed. My customer ran a few tests, aided by an online guru he pays to be part of annually. This guy saw it as a challenge due to it being an older Audi and the kind of technology he cut his teeth on years ago. Few tests and we eliminated the Lambda sensor, as with a...

I’m not feeling too bad, glad the chest infection has left me, just feel energy depleted. Back to my customers garage tomorrow with an Air Mass, a Lambda sensor, and a throttle body. We smoke tested the vac system the other day, no leaks on the boost/intake side. Obviously checked codes which...

Not been on in a while now, been so busy at work. Plus I’ve been ill for about 6 weeks now. I’ve noticed @Gops and @Sandip have been posting updates, so going to try and find some willpower. I’ve got a prop shaft to take off and get balanced, needs its 6 month oil service, front brakes seem...

    Sandip's Silver TQS

Thought I’d not seen or heard from you much Sandip. I e been loosing the will with mine in the last 3 months. Even contemplated selling it, which got a queue of potentials, lol. It’s good to see you and gops making posts, gives me a bit of encouragement.

Bringing my TQS back to life!

Looking good gops. Makes me try to find some will power again with mine, had a nightmare over the last 3 months. Great to see your progress.

136 is that all. I can see that number going right down in the next couple years. I do enjoy driving it. And I do love that you just don’t see them anymore. I might be growing weary of going through the job list, not sure.

So the visit to my customer went well. We had the car up on the ramps about 4 times in total with some test drivers inbetween. First up, the exhaust was checked, and at first it seemed really solid. But it was extremely close to the rear diff cross member. So the exhaust mounting that attaches...

Been a while since I last posted, but been a tough couple of months in the new job, and just not had time. And that’s taken its toll on the B5 sadly. Airbag warning on the dash, steering wheel leather dilapidated, headlining sagging now, vibration from drivetrain, knocking on front suspension...

    Howdy All...

Nice S4. Sure I’ve seen on book of face once or twice. Making good progress. Love the brake setup. I definatly feel I want to make the B5 numbers up at Vorsprung, but keep feeling unsure mines up to that standard in all honesty.

ABS pump is fitted. Literally bought a used item of the same part number, removed my ECU from my pump, and installed on replacement, job done. Always a mission bleeding this car, had to do it twice again. But all good now. Changed the oil while it was in the air. Since I’m at BTCC at Oulton...

Hibiscus Red TQS - New Car, New Project, cars been here before though.

Getting busy this evening. Second hand marching ABS pump module arrived today. My plan being that I’ll detach the ECU from my unit, and bolt it to the other pump and motor unit. Hoping that this way, the ABS ECU will talk to my vehicle without the use of VCDS. I l be honest. Apart from losing a...

Anybody ever had a leaking ABS Pump?

Thank you. I’ll look into having that done.

Anybody ever had a leaking ABS Pump?

Naively maybe, I thought the reason ABS pumps failed was due to electronics failure on the ECU side. My pump seems to have kicked the bucket this evening, pedal went to the floor multiple times. Limped home, and then found fluid all underneath the pump area, and splashes all over the chassis...
