No I never made any, I have never managed to get hold of one to take a look at or had the time to work out for myself what's needed.
They certainly were a lot of money!

Great right up but can't help but feel you made hard work for yourself.
I ran the cable from the passenger side fuse box up along the front pillar trim and along the edge of the headlining and straight through the tailgate hinge cover.
Didn't strip any of the boot trims, just removed the trim...
Looks like a good job, very satisfying too.
Did you cut from the inside out so you didn't push a burr up?
That is one thing that annoys me when wheels get re-cut and they don't de-burr the trailing edge. When they are lacquered you can still see it.

Not sure if this is right but have you checked if they have been coded 'off' with VCDS. I believe on the B9 model they can be switched off in the MMI.
Is it all of them or just the drivers?

Thanks for the offer, I am in Norfolk so a bit of a trek. Ideally I would need one in the workshop for a couple of hours to ensure all info was gathered.
I may just have to buy one.

If anyone can get me one to look at I will make some.
Not sure of price until I have seen one but it certainly won't be £170!! Can be anodised if that's what people want?

Not a lot of extras on top of the brace then.
Perhaps I need to buy one of these and make a few?
I just can't see a massive market for them.

That is a lot of money for a piece of extruded aluminium box section with a few holes in! Maybe some money to be made[emoji3]
I know a few of the boys over on RS246 have fitted them to their B8 RS4s.
Seem positive reports.

I just took the foam off and used about 7 or 8 number plate sticky pads. It wasn't going to vibrate or rattle after that! It certainly hasn't scratched.

I'll be honest I would have been surprised if it had covered mods.
The extended warranty that Audi offers tends to be the best cover or at least equal to any other warranty. The one big difference is there tends to be less arguments about whether they will pay out. I know you are dealing with a...
I think it is a no brainer for that sort of money!
It is not a lot of money for the peace of mind it would give.

Best place to get them from is your local Audi dealer. They aren't that expensive, in fact probably cheaper than if you found them on eBay!

I have the all component cover on my B8 RS4. I went for under 15k miles £250 excess and it was from memory about £1350.
Read the small print on the named cover as I don't believe it covers consequencial failures. So if a hose split and caused another major component failure it would only cover...
Right the part number for the ones I bought from Audi:
A4G0 955 987A
A4G0 955 988A
They are heated and a direct fit to my B8.
Full price is £8.51 each, I got a small discount to £7.66 (plus vat)

I bought mine from Audi and paid less than that, from memory £16 ish for heated fan type jets from the A6.
I can check my invoice tomorrow.
