Took my Golf down to the VW dealer yesterday for a service and was surprised to find an aerokitted C2S parked on the forecourt... Not advertised anywhere and at an attractive price...
Will be taking it for a drive over the weekend to further add to the confusion.
I think a "2" is the way...
My current and slightly oblique view is to keep the 993 (as a love it - and it's appreciating), get a 912 for fun and classic rallies and a 996 GT3 clubsport for hooning about and such like... Should still have change to tax and insure them all compared with the R8...
Not sure that I do.
Its faster but not better, and definately not as interesting.
I'm in a swither as to whether to take it or not, it's due at the end of the year.
I shared the driving in Glen's (Ess_Three) 996 C4S this weekend to GTI inters - it puts a much bigger smile on the face...
20" "deep dish" wheels, eyelids, chrome grills and retro fit angel eyes. Sounds dubious from here
I agree. The interior fit and finish is irrelevent. However, lowering a drivers car and fitting 20" wheels is not in the spirit of the ultimate driving machine - and is all about show in...
How does a 9k spend on magpie tat guarantee good maintainence?
Oh dear. Is this what the world has come to?
20" tyres to wreck the handling of the car and destroy the ride.
A lowering kit to remove the cross country b road capabilities of BM's finest.
Eyelids? Thats a bit 1989...
Cool :) Guess if i had paid attention to your location I would have noticed you were in spain.
The UK lunch was OK, but the german driving "instructors" were excellent with their deadpan accounts of the potential hazards...
It's good isn't it? I did Oulton Park earlier this year. I thought that the next one was Rockingham in August - they must have fitted another date in between...
Good cars on track, a great feel to them. The only problem is I need to spec and pay for the R8 now...
Did you get a massive R8...
Agreed as above, the show is deteriorating - a bling fest with tacky stick on mods. A smaller scale this year too, with fewer exhibitors and too many PA systems with dancing music... Pah!
The stars of the show were the original black golf Mk1 GTI in the Sunday Show and Shine - original to the...
I'm not surprised by this at all...
I spent a summer in Europe a few years ago with my B5 S4 (330bhp) my friends EVO 4 (300bhp) and a 911 964 (250bhp).
The 911 would keep up with both to 160mph.
The 911 (and boxster) produce all of their power at the top end and being normally aspirated...
***. They are really pretty cars - who wouldn't want one in the show?
I'm heading off to the Stobs Classic in my mates Mustard Yellow 356 C Karmann Coupe this weekend - it too is a very pretty car and has a fantastic retro appeal to it... For anyone feeling nostalgic - here's a wee vid...
Was that me at the helm Chris... Your S3 wasn't the only thing to go sideways that weekend!
@ Glen and Chris - Looking forward to the 1/4 mile - glad the **** taking has begun in earnest so early - I'll bring the cotton wool for those who are slightly fragile of temprement. That bounder Glen...
