The CLA is definitely a Marmite car, that is for sure. The Black 19's are a big looking wheel, but the silver edge doesn't help and makes them appear smaller from some angles I suppose.
I had mine done all Black and think they look 1000x better personally.
Wheels too small?!?!? That one must of either had the standard 18's sprayed Black or had some winter wheels on as the optional Black 19's look far from small IMO. Especially when you compare it to the standard 18's on the S3 Saloon.
It's 62bhp up on it's smaller sibling, what's wrong with that? It's about the going rate IMO.
Yes the S3 can make that power easily enough, but that requires a tune and the RS3 can do the same and retain the gap, so what's your point?!?!
This will remain a cloudy area for some time IMO. I think it fair to say that ECU maps are definitely less warranty friendly than the boxes at this point. Whether there will be a similar case raise it's head from someone who has a box, only time will tell.
I certainly wouldn't be ***** enough to...
I agree with Rob - Stage 2+ 8P would definitely be quicker than stock 8v. That vid isn't accurate at all and I heard that the S2+ car was on default settings (ie B0 F0 T0), so not worth paying attention to IMO.
This gives you a better idea (albeit Golf 7R's).
One question to the OP -...
Speedo's are quite far out then? My old ED30 was the same..
The A45's on the other hand is scarily accurate. On a recent trip to The Ring mine saw 163/4 on the clocks and 163.5mph on the Vbox (limited).
Similar spec to mine...
Mountain Grey Metallic
19" Matt Black wheels
Red Callipers

Heated Washers

AMG Exhaust
Command Online
Harman Kardon Speakers
Just over £43k and hardly poverty spec. I did opt for the Command Online, but most people...
Sorry, but what a crock of ****! Yes the MB is expensive for a hatch (still cheaper that the last RS3 though and that was based on a 10 year old platform), but to say that most of the cars sold are poverty spec because the owners can't afford to add options is just laughable IMO.
You just need...
I think new STI owners want to hope they never come up against a S-tronic car otherwise it will get even more embarrassing.. ha.
The STI has still retained some of it's fun factor by the sounds of it, but Subaru are still stuck back in 2000 and just haven't moved the game on at all. Slow, crap...
Sounds great in principle, but wouldn't be much use to customer X who blows his turbo/engine etc in the North of Scotland and needs to somehow get the car to Daventry to be flashed back again. But needs must I suppose.
I know there is a UK company who have bypassed the TDI flag by (now bare with...
Sorry mate, I didn't mean that the new software wasn't an exciting proposition (as it clearly is - so long as they make it undetectable). I just meant the rest might not be as you mentioned. 20% is obviously helpful too :yahoo:
They say the software is released in 30 days and the offer finishes...
I wouldn't get too excited about that mate...
For a start I doubt it will be anywhere near £499 for the new software. Plus I wouldn't think the previous SPS switch will be compatible and if there is a new version it will no doubt be more £'s..
Hat's off on the results on the vid and at the...
