i just swapped my B6 A4 for a nice new B7 - i've just noticed there's no heatshield material attached to the underside of the bonnet on the new one - anyone know if there should there be?

hope someone can help - the rear indicator has blown in my wifes Beetle...checked out the manual and got as far as removing the 'knurled nut' - it then says, with a suitable tool remove the clip?...i cant see any clip and cant get the rear lamp out - i worry about breaking it, can anyone shed...
