Regarding the catch can system, can you give any more guidance on this? What's involved in installing one? Is it expensive? Does it need a lot of pipework? Can it be bought off the shelf or does it need special fabrication? Apologies for all the questions but no idea what a catch can system is.

Do you think your turbo would have lived for longer if you had replaced the oil separator sooner?

So is it just a case of replacing the crankcase breather pipe or is it the oil separator that needs replacing to rectify the problem?

It has only recently started leaking and is leaking quite a big oil. I've had to top up twice within the past 750 miles and there's occasionally oil on the drive in the morning. Will replacing the crankcase breather likely resolve the problem? Thanks for the reply mate.

I changed the actuator arm and cleared the codes but the fault came up again. That only leaves the swirl flaps/rod as the offender. They rod/bushing is obviously worn. A repair kit is around £60 so I'm going to get a price on labour before deciding to go ahead with it. It may be time to change!

I've just ordered the arms. I noticed there's a fair bit of play in the one that's related to the fault code. Hopefully it's not too hard to fit. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help with this mate.
