    Ceramic coatings

Got to confess that I'm starting to side more with Jassyo06 on the coatings front that I thought I would. I was really impressed with GTechniq CSL and Exo when I applied it 18 months ago, but Exo didn't even last 6 months and so earlier this year I re-coated it with ExoV4 and that lasted about a...

    Pressure washer frustrationo

If you're feeling flush, Kranzle. :) These really are commercial machines and are designed to run 6-8 hours a day, everyday. A Karcher is designed to run 30 -50 hours at best. Too much money for most people to justify but they really are bulletproof and I got sick of the cheap crap. The only...

    Facelift S3 Exhaust soot......

Mine is exactly the same tip #1 is pretty clean compared to the rest. Audi inspected it for me and the valves were opening correctly, so I guess nothing to worry about. The strange thing for me is that I had a PFL and it didn't do it but this new FL car does. On the old car both tip 1 and 4...

Loving it. It's quieter than the old one and seems to shift a bit more dirt than the Karcher K5 I had before. I just have to keep forgetting how much money I spent on it..! :) The only problem is it's now too easy to buy different bits for it. Like the shorty gun, quick release fittings for the...

How much do you pay for insurance?

FL S3 (17 plate) - I'm 49 years old with over 10 years no claims. Last year was about £330 and this year was about £470 (I can't remember exactly). The reason for the increase was the prang in March, but I'd protected my no claims anyway.

Bought a cheeky short gun for the Kranzle. :)

Only a small outing this time round. Must say the Grey mitt feels much nicer than the blue I already have. The Gyeon Tyre is really good (thanks jassyo06) and I'm really impressed with the Dr Leather.

    Plastic B Pillar Swirls

I did mine by hand. Foam applicator with some AF tripple. By no means was it perfect and I didn't put a great deal of effort in, but they did look better. Basically my DA is too big for those so I had to get creative. :)

That actually made me laugh out loud. :D

    Petrol

Yup. Tesco Momentum £1.24.9, Shell V-Power £1.42.9 both next door to each other. Very silly really. :) Shell V-Power has gone up to an additional 13p per litre which is just ridiculous. Their standard unleaded was £1.29.9, so 5p more than momentum. £2166.95 at 143p a litre £1894.19 at 125p a...

Someone has caught my rear bumper

I'd say a smart repair but unfortunately it looks like it's past the crease line so they may have a hard time blending it in, so it might have to be a full bumper respray job. :(

Yeah I had to have the hose reel, I could've saved quite a bit of cash if I'd not bothered but for ease of use I just had to have it. My old Karcher had the hose reel so I'd would definitely have missed it . Yeah, I need to remember to keep it on the wide fan or as you say it'll start stripping...

What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Well I finally caved in and bought the Kranzle pressure washer I've been wanting for quite a while. I blame it on temporary insanity. They're not worth the money as there's no way they ever could be, but I can see a lot of quality differences between it and the Nilfisk P150 I bought before it...

    Petrol

Filled up with Momentum last night and it cost me £62, if I'd gone to the Shell garage next door for V Power it would have cost me £71. I think I'll drive a few miles out of my way for that kind of saving. :)

That's good then. :) I have a full set of wheel woolies but the large one is just too big for the S3 as it catches on the discs all the time. I just fine the incrediflair easier to use than a normal mitt as you can get your hands in easier. If it ever wears out I'll be buying another one for...

What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

@q5man - Remember it's best to throw away the microfibre cloths after your applied the CSL. I used the costco ones when I did mine as they were brand new, fairly cheap and I didn't mind throwing them in the bin. Basically the residue crystallizes and you can end up scratching your car if you use...

What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

I thought it was quite reasonable to be honest. It recommends 100ml of foam and then topped up with 500ml of water. This is enough for me to go all round the car including the wheel wells and it's definitely thick enough. I've left it at this concentration so 2.5l gives me 25 washes which is 64p...

To be honest I quite like it. It foams very well and when I used it this Sunday the foam running down the car had a nice brown tinge to it as it lifted the dirt away. I don't think it's the most aggressive cleaner out there, but I'm happy with that so at least it's not attacking the LSP. Hope...
