Sorry Mikey, but you don't have the full picture. There's more than one version of the Alientech Powergate - the Powergate S is I think what you have (from your description) and maps can be loaded to it from any source for flashing to one individual car, which unlocks again once the original...

Just to clarify, the box is not preloaded with maps. The unit reads the original map from the car, you send that to the tuner of your choice and they code the modified maps for you and send them back. Each map is coded indivudually as they cannot be used more than once on more than one box etc.

It's in the coding for module 17 using VCDS, usually the third digit IIRC change to 4 for GB. Make sure you write your coding down first just incase.

tspar, long time no see :) Will drop you a PM. As beanoir said, the systems are very similar (infact the S3 system is a newer revision and in my opinion better). If you think there may be a problem with the 4wd system try leaving your handbrake on the first click and pulling away quickly...

The latest is the revision "D" believe it or not, which is the piston type.

It's not a small job, I'm not sure what gives you that impression.

The cluster can be replaced but it's a specialist job.
