Good luck with cost. Similar fault on my RS5 cost £2700 at Audi to fix. Could have saved £1k going to a specialist but Audi squeezed car in the next day and had gearbox out, stripped, repaired and back on road in less than 48 hrs including extended test drive with 2 yr warranty on it.

I just put brembo 330 mm front discs and bremo pads on my A3 170. Cost £115 delivered from ebay. Juat made sure you get the right sized disc. 170 comes with different sized discs and pads. Look at the label in your book for the part code and match against the brakes your odering.
