    Driving position pain

Emma, you have my sympathy! I spent the best part of year with sciatica-like pain from driving two different cars (both autos) that also spread to my non-driving activities. Got so bad that I couldn’t sleep without pain killers some nights. Now, I am relieved to say, my symptoms are gone so I...

    Rejection?

Nowadays I use CTEK MXS 5 which I am very pleased with. I have both battery terminal and cigarette lighter socket connections but tend to use the latter with the lead exiting a slightly open window. (For longer durations in storage I prefer to keep some fresh air circulating in the car...

    Rejection?

Pleased to hear a happy ending. Made up for you. It's great to have a special car tucked away in the garage for nice days. Don't forget to get a good trickle charger on it; it'll ensure your battery lasts years longer.

    Quattro Settings

From Audi's intentionally misleading ad copy I assume. How they spread on social media though is beyond me because the physical impossibility of more than half the drive going to the rear axle is blindingly obvious.

    Facelift S3 - really disappointed

On the PFL no but I referred to the TCS being in sport mode on the FL cars as some have reported here that is stops its overzealous nature. I didn't think TCS can be left in sport mode it will but be nice if it can. Dynamic mode doesn't put TCS into sport mode does it?

    Facelift Anti S3 review bias

It was always reported as far back as I can remember that the R and the S3 are very different dynamically, running different dampers, different geo and with enough dimensional variation in the wheelbase that one couldn't easily replicate the R geo on the S3 (also toe angle different and not...

    Facelift S3 - really disappointed

It's no easy decision that. I doubt the S3 can ever have the poise and balance of the BMW in the bends but the S3 will be a much nicer place where you spend most of your motoring hours. Mine was a PFL and I'll be shopping for a FL next year. From everything I have read I'll just put the FL...

    Facelift Too German??

@RSS-S3 @GSB A little bit off topic but could you tell me, does the S3 with manual gearbox rev-match for you on the downshift if you cba doing it yourself? Thanks.

    Facelift Too German??

That's my feeling too. For sure, we don't all get excited by the same things in a car but more speed wouldn't be what I would throw at an S3. I'd have liked more power up the Rev range of course but top priority for me would be adjustable dampers and upgraded brakes.

It is Toucan Yellow with Gloss Black styling pack. Have to resist seeing one in the flesh.

You did demonstrate just that. The £9k is the 15 deposit from scenario 2, less the 6 you make on sale. The £5k is the deposit from scenario 1. In other words just ignoring the fact that the monthly payments are higher in scenario 1. Lol.

But you pay more in total over the life of the deal with a lower deposit, regardless of whether you keep the car or hand it back (unless the PCP APR is lower than your risk free deposit rate, which is almost impossible). So why are lower deposits preferred when they demonstrably lead to a higher...

Facelift Jassy's Discussion/Build/Wait Voodoo Blue S3 Saloon Thread

Ha! You read my mind. My first choice was Agate Grey which is pretty close to Daytona. I bought used though and there's not much stock to choose from in the OPC's so I settled for my second choice, Platinum Silver. This is the wee beastie.....

Yeah, I know what you mean. It isn't a terrible engine noise but compared to the Porsche flat 6 from the 981 its a bit industrial. Anyhoo; (although it is what the journalists all complain about) it wasn't only the engine noise that stopped me getting a 718. The whole power delivery is a bit...

Can't speak for the Jag but the 4 pot engines in the 718 Cayman have gone down, on balance, like a lead balloon with Porsche enthusiasts. It'll depend what is your comparison. If you come at the new Cayman from an S3 you will likely be blown away (assuming you can live with two seats). The...

    Damn you birds

Good point. I always look up at the ceiling for tell tale marks. Many concrete multi-storeys drip limestone.

Yes, it works by hand and you can give it a fair old whack before worrying about breaking through. That said, personally if the soft foam applicator doesn't work, I prefer to go straight to sandpaper than go to more aggressive applicators or the DA. You have to go with what feels right for you...

    Damn you birds

It is hard to tell how deep the etching is even when seeing the car close up but I would assume that it is superficial after just one day. I would clean it thoroughly of wax and zap it for a few minutes under a hot hair dryer as the lightest option. That won't remove it 100% but it can make it...

Nice. Road tax on that is £450 per year too so lease deal looks even better value.
