Got up early on Saturday to take it for the recall only to be told that it had already been done during service and that it was on the paperwork from the service. It wasn't. So now I'm not sure if it has or hasn't been done.

Just to confirm it is the connector issue mentioned above. They said it would be quick but have still only managed to book me in for three weeks time!

In short, yes. The early 8Ys were a software nightmare, and that was certainly my experience. Traded in for a 72 plate equivalent and have had a few spurious warnings but nothing like my original.

It may be a coincidence. Something could have changed server side - I'm not seeing it any more and I had it for months.

I have a 72 plate previously had a 70 plate and it does seem a lot better than the early model. It hasn’t been without issues (I’ve had a couple of spurious warnings) but it has certainly been better. SOS will be fixed as they should do all relevant software updates before handover

I sold the car I'm afraid, the issues just got too much.

Mine did it as soon as I added my account to the car (Oct '22 plate) which makes me think it's somehow an account issue. It did it on my 70 plate too.

My last A3 did this, and my new one does it. My guess is it's something on the profile given two different vehicles did it on diff software versions, it's got to be my profile.

I don't think the factory nets can be retrofitted, it's a different seat or seat back

From when I just bought mine (bought nearly new in the end) it should be available now.

There is some kind of FOD update available for the car but yours may have already received as it’s recent.

Should be available, I can see it on MyAudi on my 72 Plate A3 SLine (registered in Oct) (1.5 Petrol Saloon if that matters) - I bought main beam assist permanently last Fri and all was fine, and can still see speed limit and adaptive cruise control as purchasable.

My mum's looking for an A3 sportback at the moment and there's a few cars out there that allegedly have 'comfort and sound' but actually just have the B&O, heated seats and reversing camera - no parking sensors and no advanced parking system. The corner-cutting to get these out seems crazy to me.

As far as I know you just ask for a settlement figure and pay it.

Same key every time, the second key has never even been in the car since I bought it. Was the same with my last one.

Given all the issues with the initial 8Ys, you'd want to give it a year before you'd take one anyway I suspect.

Seems like most of VW group is the same, my wife ordered an Up and it’s been four months so far but build week theoretically this week.
