Posted this before but is a reasonable representation of what the s4 can do when driven on a mix of roads. Totally forgot about the 190/252 differences, good spot.

What are you using to tow it?

Not as much margin between the 2.0 and the S4 as I would have expected - averaging 29mpg after 4800 miles, easily reach 35-8 on a long run in eco with limiter set at 80 in the S4. Could also be driving styles of course, that must have a huge impact on figures.

Anyone noticed that the S4 gearbox (true auto, not s-tronic) is jerky until it’s truly warmed up? I’ve only noticed between certain gears - e.g. to 2nd from 3rd is naff, but 4th to 5th is seamless.

FYI for the auto dipping left mirror, the left/right selector thing has to be set to the left mirror for it to work. Caused me a bit of a headache when I’d flipped it to adjust the drivers side mirror and the auto dip stopped working. I wish I’d specced the adaptive ride - 19 in and sport...

No problem! Don’t find that particularly intuitive as double press previous cars I’ve owned has enabled the deadlocks, not reduced the security level...button would make more sense imo

Mine was similar when I got it last month - solution was to log out of Audi connect then log back in - make sure you've still got your scratch off pin in case you log out of that by mistake like I did. All services seemed to work when I did this.

Just got 41mpg average over 300 miles in the S4, limiter at 80 with some bad weather and traffic. Genuinely impressed. Will try and get the pic uploaded, however the phone image I've got is too large...

Virtually identical to what I got going from Manchester to Glasgow and back couple of weeks ago, 37.4 mpg with speed limiter at 80 and average traffic. Really impressed with that tbh, and worth noting that reducing limiter to 70 on a similar run last week made for the same mpg...

This is contrary to my car then, as it's a non-black pack S4 without the chrome handles...I'm going to check auto trader to see if I can see a pattern.

Thanks both, appreciate the replies. I'm sure the S4 I test drive (glacier white) had the chrome, but my navarra S4 doesn't have it...weird, as i think it would suit the rest of the chrome. Understand if the black pack deleted them. Will have a trawl through the spec sheets to find it verbally.

Simple Q - what dictates whether or not you get the chrome strip on your door handles? Got an S4 Avant, Navarra, and it's not got them. Read an earlier thread re whether or not the black pack drives it and it was concluded that it has no effect. Thanks all!

26, Glasgow, S4 (avant for the dog). Traded in mk 3.5 Focus ST.

Mines at 60, confirmed by dealer and by tracker. Dealer has offered to push PDI by tomorrow which is decent, but I'm picking up on sat. Wonder why status 60 doesn't show as an official status in the tracker? Seems to jump from 40 to 70?

I suspect you'll have it waiting at the dealer for a while if you're wanting the 67 plate - mine was 2 1/2 weeks from status 24 to 40, with the likelihood of 70 tomorrow/Monday. Well done with the order!
