no, it's nothing to do with fob/immobiliser. it doesn't click or do anything. a large red brake symbol comes up along with 3 beeps - nothing else. the suspicious item fits in the back of the gearbox and looks a bit like this -

yes, tried the spare key - no different.

it's never happened to this one either, it was fine the day before! brake lights ok, so brake light switch is working, unless there's an auxiliary feed to the ECU that isn't ok... battery is fine, fully of life. there's no click from the starter solenoid, starter motor will work if you short it...

..nobody got any ideas? my mechanic is stuggling, the delphi won't talk to the car so he's going over the car looking for a broken wire or something, any advice welcome..

Fixed! put in a new piece to replace the co-ax cable that was severed and the brown one which seems to be asn earth. result - but not for long. radio city played for 10 seconds until i wiggled the cables and it all went dead again. i chopped a foot length out of the other 2 co-ax - a large and...

i've got some of these - but how do you get the radio out? pushed them in the slots but still can't work out how to get the unit out...

done this [replied in the ICE section], but there's still a fault - unless, i suppose, i replace the co-ax completely.

well there IS a problem there - the black carpet tape wound round there was a giveaway! a co-ax cable and a brown cable were severed. unfortunately rejoining these did not restore radio reception - unless there's a fault elsewhere in the co-ax?

i posted a question in the specific forum but didn't get much response, so hopefully some of you guys in the area may help? basically, the car [2004 2.4 auto] has the OE radio/single CD player. CD plays fine, no radio reception - FM or AM. after looking round the forums, i found the aerial cable...

bump - any ideas about the module? there's one on e bay for 44 quid but i don't want to replace something that's potentially ok..
