I loved my (Sept 2017) SQ5, not as many toys as yours but enough to keep me happy and the list price to residual value in a place I was happy with. Did 22k in 23 months and then decided that I needed to scratch the M5 itch....... The M5 lasted 11 months and I got an RS4 - still not as many toys...
Happening with a lot of brands, most are offering a fixed credit to the price for what they cannot spec. Its then down to you whether you buy it or not, but if not, what else are you going to get relatively quickly, unless you are happy with your current car...
Great cars. I think my SQ5, in hindsight, was all the car I needed.... Enjoy!
(Right wheels too, I thought the 21s on mine looked great but did take the edge off the ride...)
@firecracker69 could manage 4 different cars whilst he is waiting for one to be built!
I couldnt wait that long unless it was my dream drive to keep forever.... for a daily that will be swapped in 2 years or so, no chance!
I've always wanted an Alpina since I saw the first one in Sytner Nottingham back in the day when it was a 2 garage operation and he as sole UK importer for Alpina. I had an E30 318iS then.
They are ludicrously expensive and the only way I could vaguely make the numbers work is to do diesel...
Looks stunning, but I would say that based on colours and red calipers!
Think my daughter is likely to go X3 M40d or X4 M40d next if they can get hold of one at a sensible price....
The M340d is a lovely car (especially as an estate). Son in Law had an M340i when I bought the RS and I have to say it was probably the perfect car for me, or even the 340d estate, but by the time I had specced what I wanted then the monthlies were not far off the RS because the residuals were...
Yep, not losing money on cars is a rarity. You have of course just moved the loss to the next one if you are buying something else but dont think about that too much!
So what sort of BMW then...?
3 weeks, madness! did you not like the RS5 then? You wont actually have made a payment for it before you got rid.....
So what sort of BMW this time as didnt you really dislike the last one you had....?
Sounds a nice car. Wasnt sure about the Q2 when it first launched but its grown on me.
Not sure I could wait 6 months for a car though, I'd change my mind on car / colour / spec / model / manufacturer about a dozen times in that time!
you cant beat a small manual car for fun on a B road, I have a Mini Cooper (only 136hp) alongside the RS4, but I reckon the Mini is more fun more often on country roads as the RS4 is so fast and capable.
I wouldnt swap the RS4 though, sometimes when you are pressing on you want competent not...
I remember that issue when I had mine, although mine didnt seem to suffer badly. But as a known issue with a TPI the goodwill repair comment stands even more....
Whereas I bought white in part because it looks fab but for anyone not in the know it could be any photocopier salesman trundling up and down the motorway in his standard A4....
cosmicblue has solved your brake caliper issue. Not sure he can help me with my frameless windows, but i can live...
My list of colours was more what I wouldnt have - no black, no grey, no green, no white..... then I saw it and it had to be white!
And the sportback is the best looking variant of all, so dont worry about the red calipers, I'm jealous of your frameless windows!
****** hell, so you are chucking a wedge at a car you had before that you might only keep 5 months, you must have an understanding other half!
I mean I fully understand the desire for a white, carbon black edition RS, you just need the proper one with an estate back ;)
Ford comment - they make...
