Doing a dis-service to Audi drivers

Driving home from a weekend away yesterday afternoon. Got to the end of the M27 in the New Forest and 3 lanes go into 2. I've got 800 yards overtake an A4 cabriolet and a Volvo both doing about 75mph in the middle lane. The next thing I know the nob driving the Audi decides his car is better...

Dance Classics - List your favourite track

Without meaning to sound like DJ Dave Pee-**** from Radio 1, here is my list of all time classics that I've just put together as an MP3 playlist. I was the original outdoor raver, complete with glowsticks and vicks smeared under the eyes... 808 State - Pacific State Primal Scream - Come...

Using Meguires Metal Polish on Alloy Wheels

Horror of horrors at the weekend! My 5 year old asked if she could help me clean the car, so I said she could help clean the wheels. Only after a few minutes did I realise she has picked up an old washing up scourer from the garage and was using the abrasive side! Suffice to say there are...

What's your top 5? Mine (in no particular order): Witnessing the birth of my kids Lapping Silverstone in a touring car (driving) between the warm-up and qualifying sessions of the 1997 British Grand Prix Seeing Pink Floyd live at Earls Court in 1994 (completely stoned) :drag...

    Alpina D3

One for Bowfer... In this week's Autocar, and I quote "It does no less than 35mpg even on the slowest of urban crawls, and on a 70mph motorway slog it regularly betters 40mpg. Yet is costs a very reasonable £26,995 - about four grand more than the 320d on which it's based. To be honest...

Momentary drop in revs at 82 MPH

Strange one this, but becoming more frequent... When I'm driving on the Motorway and I momentarily back off the throttle at just over 80 MPH then press the accelerator again, it feels like the engine cuts out for a split second, resulting in a slight (say 200-300) drop in RPM. I have a 7...

Is this a mod too far?

Attention all modders... Check out the latest retro-fit addendum to your Audi. I think it's taking things too far - what do you think?

Is Quattro worth it? How about a 3.2?

Why pay more to make your car heavier? It might get more traction on a 0-60 sprint, but can you justify the extra weight, fuel consumption and £1,400? I reckon most buy it because they think the DNA of their new Audi can be traced back to the original 80's icon. Slightly antagonistic I...

Does Concert II have a line-in port to attach an MP3 player?

I've just ordered an A3 with Concert II stereo - it is a company car and will have a hands-free phone kit installed once it's been delivered. My question is - whilst this job is being done, could I install the necessary kit for an MP3 player? It's a Sony NW-A3000. Cheers
