for the 3.0 TDI “50” engine, on the MMI display, there are four notches. On the iPhone app, 8 notches. Either way, volume of oil between the Maximum and Minimum is 1.0 litres. May thanks to AUDI READING 4000 miles consumption was 0.4 litres so 0.1 L per thousand miles is hardly excessive.
