Late to the party, but if it's useful, I've replaced my standard heated seats for full electric without unplugging the battery, and as Darren92 has stated, don't start the ignition.
You'll be fine
I've searched a lot of online sources and I've not come across a proper A6 C7 3.0TDI expansion tank replacement guide. Loads of other models and different size tanks with slightly different methods on different engine sizes, so I hope people will find this useful.
You'll need:
A pick tool, a...
So I switch my ignition on and the screen pops up and my music starts playing but the screen stays black.
2 minutes, 5 minutes... Sometimes up to 10 minutes before MMI screen shows any menus etc.
Searched for answers online but only found solutions for people whose screen is permanently...
You're right, the wires need upgrading but since I'm unlikely to have to change the settings any longer since I'm the only driver of this car, I'll be putting zero strain on the wires.

Mind you, the ET would make a difference too so I have a lot of variables to consider!
And you're right, 45 profile on my 255 width tyres aren't great. I would...
I've been following this dude, he's basically my inspiration!
He has 17"s with 235/65 tyres, but he had to shave the rear arch a piece to make it work. Also it's an A4 allroad so unsure of the arch difference.
