Audi A3 Sportback TFSI e 2021 (UK) 12v Battery Charging

Looks like our posts crossed. No, the unit you mention under the bonnet is the inverter unit, converts the 400v of the HV DC into 3 phase AC amongst other things like regen and definately NOT to be touched. Anything with orange cables is HV and stay away! " I think you are being very general...

Audi A3 Sportback TFSI e 2021 (UK) 12v Battery Charging

What was the charge level of the HV battery when you parked up? As the vehicle doesn't have an alternator, the case with EVs and Hybrids is usually that the 12V battery is kept charged through the HV system. If the HV battery charge level is low or it detects an issue with the 12v battery, it...

Range - does it get better?

A cold start in colder weather takes the most out of the battery I find. I think this must be something to do with the gearbox warming up.

Range - does it get better?

Mine's 2 years old now and quoted range never varies much between 37-39 and sometimes in very cold weather, 34. The best I have actually managed when driving is 42 under perfect conditions (temp 20 deg, no wind, 50-60 limits with plenty of coasting. )

    Reduce oil level

How does the oil level look on the dipstick? There seems to be a few mentions of this message on some of the other vehicle topics, ranging from blocked DPF in diesels to petrol getting in the oil and actually raising its level. Sent from my Pixel 7 Pro using Tapatalk

    What oil

Unless things have changed recently, VAG group's acceptable spec for oil consumption was something crazy like 1 litre per 1000 miles. how that makes hydrocarbon emissions acceptable I dont know My 2005 8P TDI, in the 240,000 miles that I had it, never used more than half a litre between the...

Seat belt buckle really low on drivers side

The loop that holds the clip up must have been stitched too low. Unless there is a loop of belt stuck in the trim at the bottom. Can you see the end of the belt down there? Sent from my Pixel 7 Pro using Tapatalk

    Pre-sense fault?

It's all about safety and risk. Just like why a commercial aircraft's autoland system cannot be used in strong crosswinds and turbulent conditions. Revert to manual! Sent from my Pixel 7 Pro using Tapatalk

    Tyre Debacle

I learnt the following from a friend who spent a career lifetime in car development and testing with Ford in Essex.. AO tyres are Audi 'factory fit'. They get, along with most other vehicle manufacturers from the tyre producer, the roundest / best balanced carcasses of a production run. This...

Which engine to choose potential new owner

It did, yes, I recall having about one mile left at the end of the journey. Traffic can catch it out though as it prefers to use battery when crawling / stop-start as presumably it's more efficient. Coasting adds to the efficiency a great deal. Sent from my Pixel 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Which engine to choose potential new owner

I have had my TFSIe for 18 months now and love it. If you can regularly charge at home, do short commutes and have solar power or a cheap tariff such as Octopus Intelligent it's a no brainer. The engine is along for the ride. On a 320 mile journey, setting off with full charge and fuel tank, I...

    S3 no TPMS?

The ABS based TPMS has worked perfectly for me over my last 15 years of owning Audis with such systems, warning me of both slow and much quicker punctures in time to get to a safe refuge. Why replace it with one with potentially 400% more unreliability of all the wheel sensors and batteries...
