Just a quick survey.
When you are driving during the day, with your lights OFF, are your Needles & Scales (i.e. the background behind the Needles) both lit up?
Update:
I went into 17-Instruments
Under Adaptations, there are no options for needles and scales.
However, if I go to Long Coding, there are options for changing the lighting of needles and scales. The current long code begins with 2F which is Illumination: Needles and Scales ON, which is what...
I've changed brake pads on other cars and I've never seen a brake fluid reservoir so concealed.
Yes, if I fiddle about and hold the artificial light at a certain position then I can see the fluid level, and that's fine for a simple check.
However, I plan to change the rear brake pads in the...
This black part covers the brake fluid reservoir, can it be easily removed?
It just makes it awkward to see the fluid level in the reservoir.
I've already removed the beauty plastic cover that fits on top of the engine.
I want the scale lights to be on all the time.
Was wondering if anyone had been able to achieve this using VCDS, as I can't use mine at the moment due to technical issues with the laptop.
In my Audi A4 B8, the needles in the dash illuminate fine with the lights off, but the scales behind the needles can hardly be seen.
Everything all looks ok when the lights are switched on, but I don't want to drive with the lights on during the day.
Has anyone been able to turn the scales on...
Page 234: "The cooling system is filled for life at the factory, so the coolant does not need to be changed."
But I don't believe these "for-life" claims made by car makers. As a minimum, the coolant should be changed with the cambelt.
It says G12 on the coolant reservoir.
I'm not sure what they put in when they changed the cambelt & water pump about 2 years ago, but it's a pinkish colour.
So I guess anything which is G12, G12+, or G12++
The handbook says coolant is filled for life and does not need to be changed.
I'm sure there are some great techs around like you.
The problem is usually the "management" setting ridiculously unrealistic targets to work to.
And then there is the devious behaviour of some because they know no one is looking - the rats will play when the cat is away.
I was working on the...
Campaign for viewing areas at service/repair garages.
https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/443834/
Feel free to use your buying power to get viewing areas, or have a video of it, or a live camera feed.
Most of these stealers/garages will get up to all sorts of devious things if they know they...
The stealers/dealers seem to excel and be extremely good at NOT finding faults.
Audi UK (or whichever company it is) won't do anything until it starts to hit its sales.
