Hi all, i have a 2011 C6 2.0tdi manual and ive got an issue with the air con. its fully gassed and no fault codes other than the air quality sensor. i was looking through the measuring block data on my xtool scanner and the HAVAC measuring block 054 (which measures the G395 sensor -condenser...
Hi there, great write up on the clutch change and additional items. I sse you travelled a fair distance to get the work done by someone you trust with the car - whereabouts is Jimbo's place ? Car is looking really well. i especially like the 18" D2 S8 rims - they obviously look OEM but that...
Hi there. I understand what you're saying about the callipers now - yes get the originals refurbed - you could send them to big red or at least see what they'd charge to recon the pair. That down pipe looks well made and i reckon those carbon covers will be a nice edition to the other carbon...
Hi Midas, just had a catch up on the last few pages - still plenty of good work going on here. Shame about the brake issue, but i suppose if you were happy with the performance of the original system refurbing those callipers with new discs pads should at least give you confidence that the...
Just been reading through your posts again. Some great progress and commitment to your project/rolling restoration, car is looking really well. Keep up the good work and it should start to get a little easier now as we hopefully start to have lighter drier days! LOL.
Hi thanks for the reply - yes completely agree - wouldn't trust the dealers. I've been reading up some more and it appears that you apply the 15nm to the tensioning roller and then pull the pin - as the spring loaded tensioner is more of a damper to keep the load on the belt constant. So i now...
Hi there, thanks for the reply. Yes - i know - you cant put that pin back in. LOL. Just out of interest did you get Audi to do it or did you just buy the parts from Audi ?
Hi All, I'm hoping to secure an A6 Biturbo with the same engine as the S4. I'm intending to do the cambelt rollers tensioners, water pump, thermostat and relevant cam/ crankshaft oil seals etc and have been researching the procedure - i've done a few cambelts on the 1.9 engine so am familiar...
Hi there, lots of work done again and glad you got to the bottom of the oil pressure issue. Nearly spat my tea everywhere laughing at the temp pressure gauge taped to the windscreen - but whatever works right! Do you think the pressure switch was knackered by the slick 50 treatment?
If it were me id only get the subframe designated for your gearbox code. As above B5 nut has identified a possible difference in gearbox mounting but there may also be other differences with exhaust clearances etc.
Great work. All i can say is that this car is going to be the end of you with all the injuries! LOL. Yes pick up pipe does look somewhat clogged. Peace of mind for you now though with oil pump and belt changes all done. Keep up the good work.
Trim looks in good nick - what model was it out of RS4? As for headlamps - yes a lot of hassle to make them legal and insurance friendly should you have an RTA. With the improvement in halogen bulbs id stick with standard lamps and upgrade the bulbs. Spend the cash saved on other...
It never rains! Hope you're ok? Bit of grind flash in the eye or a cut to your hands/arm? Agree that if something was loose loose then yes you would expect a knocking but if its ball joint or track rod end just a bit loose then may be not. The other thing to check is that the actual rack ends...
Thats not good. Definitely no air in the system? Have you had the car back on axel stands and had someone sit in the car and move the steering while you've observed the rack mounting points, track rod ends and all the suspension ball joints (i know some are new) just make sure nothing has...
You say money pit - but prices will only go one way. I used to own an Mk 3 Escort RS1600i - sold it to buy a 944 - saw it on ebay 12 months back for £25k!!! I think the Audi 's of this era will have their day, look at anything 80's quatrro wise and they're now fetching good money. I think the...
Hi - if the tyre is rubbing on the suspension then it must be that the wheel is leaning in. Check both the ball joints on the bottom of the hub carrier. Also check that the drive shaft nut is tight. Is there any droning noise - could indicate a failed wheel bearing. I'm assuming the tyres...
