I would agree with you on most cars, never liked any facelift, however for me the exception that proved the rule is the 8V, I preferred the FL styling and it was improved over the PFL in just about every way.
Pulling the fuse only stops the pump and clutches engaging. Everything is still turning when you drive. It will rule out some Haldex faults but not all
Although there is no drive, everything is still rotating if the car is moving, just the Haldex clutch packs are disengaged.
Quite a few other things get up to temp as well, Have you tried warming the engine up standing still?
If the Haldex service has been done by Audi then get it done again by someone who will take the pump out and inspect/clean the gauze filter. Audi don't do that. Mine had 2 Audi Haldex services and the Haldex oil was as old as the car make of that what you will.
Check all other fluids, front...
You mean UN-abused example :icon thumright:
Quite agree, I think if you bought one now you would have to figure in significant engine and transmission work at some point. Even if you went over it with a fine tooth comb I can still think of a few ways it could still catch you out.
Trouble is...
I am a big fan of RWD BMW, had lots of them over the years and they currently outnumber my 4wd VAG cars 2:1. But that is not why I bought an RS3 and an M2 no matter how good or cheap cannot do what the RS3 does.
4 doors and 4 proper seats seats, space to put stuff and the kind of stable...
If the winter tyres cure the problem swap the summers from side to side see if that changes things too. How worn are the rears?
Many use/have used the standard 235/35/19 all round on staggered wheels with no issue. You could use 245/35 as a happy medium.
I turned 2 staggered sets into 2 square...
First of all get the oils changed, front and rear diffs, haldex (clean the gauze filter) and DSG. Check the quantity and colour of oil coming out. Any VCDS/OBD11 codes?
Do you know the history? not first time rear diff oil been drained by mistake on a haldex service.
RO2 tyres are correct but...
Not just that, see quite a few CCB discs wrecked by stones between the disc and calliper or chipped edges when catching the edge of the disc with the wheel when removing or fitting the wheel. They are quite brittle if hit or dropped
What its worth is going to depend entirely on what is salvageable from the engine. Without knowing that most will price the car on a worst case scenario.
Someone who is planning to build their engine anyway would fix a lot of what might be wrong with that engine in building it but that still...
Yes, that is why I prefer the B3 Alpina, Same engine, more torque, better suspension and no stupid front end.
Unsurprisingly though the prices are holding better than the M3.
One of the reasons I am still in the 8V, when I am pushing on in manual round corners, the paddles are never there (it is why some fix them to the column not the wheel)
Thankfully I can hit the lever blindfolded no matter what is going on, it just falls to hand.
Now if I could only make it...
I like the wheels and I went for a similar colour myself, I quite like the muted look. :icon thumright:
Keep in mind the Pilot Sport 5 is a replacement for the PS4 not the PS4S
The replacement for the PS4S is not yet on general release. If you think you make use of the PS4Ss capabilities...
Looks like one to avoid as it is up 4 sale

For me it is a clear case of peak figures vs area under the graph and the fact that willy-waving headline figures off a dyno are not what gets the car down the road.
Always amazes me how many muppets never get their head round that in their lifetime and never understand how a car with "less"...
Whilst no make or model is immune to it, the RS3 'scene' does seem to turn into a toxic pizzing contest more than most others. It not something I come across as much with other cars I have (or have had)
One of the reason I still have the 8V, it slips past unnoticed most of the time and you...
Have to agree, not been a fan of most Alpina alloys since the ones fitted to mine in the 80s
But I've never let that put me off buying a car, I either put them in a box for when I sell the car and run something better, or I use them as winter wheels and keep a good set for the summer. Sometimes...
