    Washer Jet Questions

I got some pre-mixed Sainsbury's stuff the other day after the last lot ran out, about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Had it in a week, and washer barely work ever, just read the label, for winter weather down to -2c!!!

    Washer Jet Questions

Hi, with the cold weather, and gunk all over the roads I have a couple of washer jet related questions! Heated Washer Jets: I've read two things about these, one says they come automatically below a certain temperature, the other says they come on with the rear windscreen heater (and another...

    Diesel to petrol, regret?

Try the parkers Fuel cost calculator, just select from cars from the list, and it will calculate how long it will take you to recoup the difference. According to it, based on my 2.0 TDI S Line (Start Stop) 4d vs a 1.8T FSi (160ps) S Line 4d, I would only drive 13k miles to recoup the extra. (£40...

    Wrong Sized Tyre fitted?

Just got a puncture today in the front left, and took my car to get it replaced, discovered that the tyre was a different one from the other three!! (I got the car from a colleague who left with the car 4 months old). The aforementioned tyre was 225/40, with the others 240/40. Wondering if...

Media Card Reader – Maximum Card Size

I love mine too, I was originally looking at buying an Ipod connector (the car didn't have the inbuilt AMI), and read somewhere that it would cost £150, or you could buy a 16gb card for £16....no brainer really! Especially as I wanted to control it through the stereo. Don''t have to worry about...

Media Card Reader – Maximum Card Size

This is software related. if your stereo/ MMI is version SW0301 or above (apparently from sept 2009), SDHC cards above 4GB will work (up to 32GB I understand). Your Audi dealer should be able to do this. I have read elsewhere that the SVM code (i am not sure what that actually is!, but is...

    A3 handed back, 3yrs and 98,000miles, a quick report!

Handed my A3 SE 2.0TDi Sportback in on Friday, after 3 years, will miss the old girl. Partly as the lease was about to end (in a month), and partly as I have a new job! In the three years, had to go into the Garage four times for failures (in order): 1. Oil leak from the Cam pump (lots of...

Things You Didn't Know Your A3 Did!

One that is NOT in the manual! On the Concert III stereo, press and hold the 'Menu' button for 5 secs or so, and the radio will go into a diagnostic mode which will display which tuner you are using, and also display the signal strength! Press again to return to the normal display

Things You Didn't Know Your A3 Did!

The Auto headlights come on a set speed, think its 90mph (not that I ever travel that fast ;) ) If you have an electric sunroof, it will automatically shut when it rains (I don't have one to test), but think you need auto wipers. If you take your foot off the accelerator the car slows...

    Phatbox help stopped working

Does it still work when in your PC cradle? First suggestion is to check ALL connections. Mine has died recently too, but it has been in two cars for around 120,000miles worth..

Did any one else know this...

Not something exciting, but the air con automatically goes into to recirc mode if you are in reverse (which also automates the rear wiper if your front wipers are active), or you use the windscreen washer.

I had the same problem about a month ago, turned out the slave cylinder had failed, luckily it was done under warranty (despite being at 80k+, but under 3 years).

    Phatnoise

Yeh, there are a few text to voice systems out there, such as AT&T natural voices. There are also some microsoft voices Mike andMary (again american), or Neospeech. You have to pay for most, or obtain them illegally (which we do not condone).

    Phatnoise

I have a phatnoise too, which I have upgraded to 80GB, very good system. The cable you show is the correct one for certain headunits (the Concert III for example and other newer ones). Think a few turn up on ebay too. If you need the square quadlock cables, you can also speak to VW for them...
