From tuning, was a drop off top end due to flow restriction from exhaust side. Turbo performed really well. Can’t remember where I heard it before but I remember seeing a video where someone mentioned the restrictiveness of a milltek backbox at this power demand.
Yea not many ppl will like this...
Hello all.
Thought I’d post an update on my stage 3 build after the issues I had with the DSG clutch and poor map originally (won’t mention the garage on here)
Thankfully I took it to QST who were brilliant and replaced my clutch packs along with a fresh DSG service + TVS stage 3 TCU map.
I...
Yes it was the previous TCU map that caused the clutch to wear. I’m annoyed because data logs show the car is running 2.1 bar boost and I was told it was de-tuned to preserve the clutch.
QST are helping me. We will cap the torque at 600nm after a new clutch is fitted and keep the power safe and...
Ok so it’s definitely the clutch unfortunately. TVS map couldn’t resolve the slip.
if anyone has a recommendation for DSG clutches please let me know.
Gutted is an understatement, most garages are quoting over 2k supplied and fitted.
I thought this at first but apparently its not uncommon. Been on the golf R forums and there are few there that had TCU maps which didn't have the correct clamping pressure causing clutch slip and all were custom TCU maps as is mine.
The boost is set high, it only slips on high boost so I'm...
I've spoke to QST and the Phirm and both said its unlikely the clutch has gone on a DSG and they suspect the map saying they've seen poor maps causing this in the past. I'm really not sure though, hoping someone has had this and can give some feedback. I've personally heard of TCU maps causing...
They have but still causing slip top end. I'm seriously suspecting the TCU map rather than a worn clutch but i've been told once they start to slip its hard to get good clamping pressure again.
I'm not sure. Waiting on other tuners to check the TCU map
Hello all. Just had a stage 3 ECU/TCU map done but the DSG clutch is slipping top end and causing a gearbox overheating message.
In normal driving its completely fine.
Tuner said I need new clutch packs. Is this more likely to be a poor TCU map or worn down clutch packs? 75k mileage car, pfl 6...
Hello all. Can anyone please tell me what this part is? Hit a speed bump too quick and it fell off. Put it back on but this morning got a low engine oil msg. Other side of the sump so probably non related, thanks
Would stock hpfp internals be reliable for over 500bhp? The stock internals are definitely working fine so I may just leave it in if the replacement autotech fails again. Tuner said it was definitely the hpfp
It’s a retrofit into the stock unit but I know the garage has done a lot of these. It is possible that it may have not been fitted properly this time though
Hello all.
My S3 is going stage 3, but ran into an issue with the autotech HPFP. It shat itself on the first dyno run after being fitted.
I've since returned it and waiting for a replacement.
Currently using the stock HPFP which is working fine.
Has anyone experienced this before? My...
Hello guys,
Didn't know this so thought I'd share in case anyone finds it helpful.
8v's have a dyno mode which de-activates the haldex so the car is in FWD on a dyno (to save the haldex from unnecessary stress).
Just pump the accelerator pedal 5 times and it should be activated.
Here's the vid...
I'm 10 mins from you, Ashford/staines
Should hopefully get her upwards of 500. If you're about next week give me a shout you can check mine before you buy one
You’re not far from me then
Wrench are 10 mins down the road from me lol
Yes they are extremely good
They’ve done all DMO’s cars.
I’m at 403bhp dyno’d on stage 2
But taking it to wrench for them to work their magic on a stage 3
