Hi guys, here is the final update on the situation (I hope)
I took the car back to Tonbridge Audi, the Aftersales manager, Lee Sewell got involved and he said they would fix the car as a goodwill gesture and without admitting liability becuase the usual booking in procedure had not been...
A quick update.
My email showing the damage that I sent to the dealer got rejected as the file size of the pictures were too big. So instead I asked them to fax me the form they use to show any damage on the car when they receive it.
Bearing in mind that I had pretty accuratly descibed where...
it was cleaned , badly. There was a bit of what looked like wool stuck in the gap between the panel and bonnet, that's what initiall drew my eye to it.
Thanks guys I'll let you know how I get on. I spoke to the dealer again and they have said that when they book the car in the do a damage check like the loan car form and that they have marked the damage on it. I'm sure they havenow that I havetold them where it is.
I'm going down there...
Hi,
Just got my car back from it's first service at Tonbridge Audi, good price, good service. BUT it has come back with a big scratch(es) on it which could only have been done by someone leaning into the engine bay.
My problem is, I didn't collect the car, my wife did as I have been away on...
Mine is Blufin'd and handles well in FWD. If money was no object and I wasn't bothered about the increased fuel consumption (which I am, hence buying a diesel), then I would go for the Quattro
So I'm driving along an A road at 70-ish today and the Glow Plug light starts flashing and I lose a lot of power. I limp to the nearest service station which was luckily only 1/2 mile away. Stopped the car and read the manual. It said I should have the car serviced immediatly.
Then I turned...
I had mine done (non-quattro) 5000 miles ago and no problems at all . Blue-fin, they claim around 197bhp but I've never put it on a rolling road.
Also mine is s-tronic and (touch-wood) no gear box problems but I spoke to Superchips long and hard about it and they said their warranty would cover...
from reading the ongoing debates over S-tronic, I am under the impression that they have improved them considerably over the past few years. Don't be under any illusion that it is a manual replacement though.
I find it great. It's no manual replacement, but I didn't want that anyway. I wanted a nice smooth, responsive auto box which you could have some fun in manual mode occasionally. I would say the S-Tronic box fits the bill perfectly.
Very nice indeed. Do BMW 3's still have awful stereos as standard. I know the Harmon Kardon and 6-series systems are nice but I always found the 3 & 5 series to be pretty awful.
I had done over 100 miles on the motorway and the DIS was showing 650 left in the tank yesterday, not bad. Obviously wouldn't get this for town driving. And the car has been bluefin'd to allegedly 197bhp.
I test drove a IS220d before buying the audi, coming from a golf 2.0 tdi, and to be honest I think It wa the worst driving modern diesel car I have driven. It was shocking.
Shame because they don't look bad in sport trim.
