the manufacturer states that the vehicle when presented for geometry check/adjust should be fitted with its original wheels, standard ride height and tank full of fuel.attaching a clamp to an alloy wheel is always a dodgy process but with a soft powder coated finish it must be near impossible to...
Hi stebed
this is a notoriously oily engine, the first thing i would check mate is the breather pipe which runs from one head to the other.take off the engine cover and you will see it.its plastic and ribbed,it gets very brittle after time and it will probably be split somewhere.costs around 60...
some kind of perspective on the issue maybe.when you took your car in with the engine light on surely the technician didnt just lift the bonnet and say "its the coolant cap guv".he would have to of spent time finding out what the fault is,this would be included in the labour charged by the...
Just something to think about mate.Diverter valves are designed to aid performance by keeping the turbo spinning when throttle is closed(when accelerating). The blow off type valves do not so actually you are hindering performance. You can get a performance diverter valve made by forge i...
Saw an s3 today that had been chip tuned BADLY.Car sprouted a leak on passenger floor carpet. On further inspection the plastic cover at the bottom of the screen was not fitted correctly allowing rain water to pour through the pollen filter into the car. When i lifted the cover to fit it back i...
THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WILL NEVER GO OFF WHEN IT SHOULDNT.MANY SAFE GUARDS BUILT IN TO PREVENT THIS.YOU HAVE LOTS OF IGNITERS ON THE CAR(ONE PER AIRBAG)WHO SERVICES YOUR CAR?SOUNDS LIKE HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT HES DOING,WOULDNT LET HIM TOUCH MY AIRBAG SYSTEM.YOU NEED TO GE A PRINT OF THE FAULT CODE ITS...
the turbo is fitted right next to the bulkhead which in effect is just behind the dash.this could be normal turbo noise(do you know anyone with the same type of vehicle to compare?)or you may have a poor hose connection or split hose.i repaired an s3 last friday that had a cracked...
the cutting out and running for 5 seconds was worst case.the most common symptom is when backing off the throttle and reaplying it gives you a hesitation because there is too much egr.
yes, just by the air filter there is some black truncking which is connected to the plenum chamber(this is where the plastic cover is that houses your washer jets).open the truncking and your washer pipe is inside.it has a push fit joint that continuosly comes apart, best thing to do is cut off...
yes its part of the air intake system.the warm, pressurised air from the turbo charger passes through it to the intercooler(heater matrix looking thing)
you could ask to speak to their mastertech(if they have one)and tell him about our conversation its always the best policy to by pass the reception.in my experience it gets a bit like chinese whispers.what you have described in good detail to reception gets written down on the jobcard in the way...
sounds like the dash insert is failing.this has its own control unit with the immbiliser integral.if the ecu inside is dead the immobiliser will cut in which is what is happening when the engine starts and stalls.hope this helps.
