looking at the photo below is there a cover missing from my engine bay on the right hand side. also it seems there is a small box shaped hole in the side with something missing. anyone any ideas what this might be.

Picked up my Audi A4 Avant yesterday and it appears to have a problem with the heating/aircon the air only runs cold when I have it on lowest setting, but all the others is hot air. is this just a service issue
