How many miles is just too many miles?

Oh I know they are totally different cars. CTR is just one of those cars that you really want to drive, but the A3 seems more like a sensible option for the £5k - £7k range. The A3 with the single grill S-Line bumper does look more appealing too. Being a student the fuel costs, insurance and...

How many miles is just too many miles?

I am starting to feel more confident in my decision to look for an higher mileage TDI now than going for a CTR  Adding an extrak 30k on top of 100k seems like a realistic option I suppose. Although you know what its like when you want to buy a new car, 6 months is a long time for your...

How many miles is just too many miles?

Thanks for the replies! Usual wear and tear like brakes etc doesnt bother me, its the bigger priced jobs that I'm cautious about. In terms of reliability I was hoping it could go atleast 150,000 miles without too much hassle in the 2L TDI? I have an 11 year old Renault with only 60,000 on the...

How many miles is just too many miles?

I've been searching around online for weeks looking at A3 TDI's. I'm really tempted to get a 2003 - 2004 model, and I go through the stages of whether or not I would be happy with a high mileage car. At best i do between 6,000 - 9,000 miles a year, so if I keep the car for 3-4 years then I'd...

    my new a3 which alloys?

Not a fan of those alloys. I really do like the A5 V-spoke reps or the new TT RS alloys. Only seen one example of each on these forums so far, so both options are more unique than the normal reps. Nothing wrong with the RS4 reps though, still look great!

Looking to buy an 8P1, wondering the costs involved for this end result...

Thanks for the replies! It wasn't right away, was hoping to get the car within the next 6-9 months, but I definitely dont mind going the 8P2 route if it will save thousands! And I suppose it doesnt all have to be done at once. I can space it over a year or two depending on how the money...

Looking to buy an 8P1, wondering the costs involved for this end result...

Is this too optimistic as a 'shopping list'? 8P2 S-Line front bumper - £200 8P2 Bonnet - £150 A5 V-spoke reps - £350 Aftermarket headlights (similar to PregnantNproud's ) £150~ So around £1,000? I suppose I'll have to factor in the likelyhood that I will need to pay for a respray of the front...

Looking to buy an 8P1, wondering the costs involved for this end result...

Ahh now that is disheartening. It wouldn't look much worse with the 8P2 bumper and A5 alloys, would it? Or am I just pretending to myself I can do this relatively cheap?

Hello! First off I'd like to say this is a great forum. Full of information and plenty of people willing to help! I'm looking at getting an 03 - 04 A3 TDI and wondering what costs would be involved to transform something like this...
