    Another water in boot thread!!!

Mine did this on and off for ages.. was driving me crazy lol! i do think even when dried out, there can be quite a lot of residual water hiding in the pockets of inner support brackets and boot floor structure, without you knowing.. and then when you drive it slops around all over the place...

    Another water in boot thread!!!

Hi Rack - I've just seen this.. i feel your pain brother!!! Does it get wet inside on dry and rainy days like mine was? Defo worthwhile getting the carpet out and taping kitchen towel all round the boot area to look for entry signs.. i think mine was either the battery or the rubber bungs in...

B8.5 S4 Avant - Water leak in boot

Hi Rack, Well yes and no is the answer!! A couple of weekends back i got the rear of the car up on ramps, took the wheel arch liners out, rear lights out, and rear bumper off... and basically sealed everything with clear silicone! Rear lights openings, rear bumper vents, any rubber grommet...

B8.5 S4 Avant - Water leak in boot

Yes, this is a common failure point.. the rear washer nozzles get blocked over time, then fluid cannot pass though them and the motor in the tailgate burns out and leaks water inside the tail gate and it runs down into the boot/wheel well. I have checked my rear nozzles and took the all the...

B8.5 S4 Avant - Water leak in boot

Ugh.. this saga continues AJ ! I never got round to fitting the new bungs as when I got under the car the old ones both looked perfect and seating flush. I did go ahead and liberally spread some clear silicone sealant on both the underside and inside the boot.. thinking that would be the end...

B8.5 S4 Avant - Water leak in boot

Hi team - HNY and all that! So back when I did my last track day I decided to empty my boot of tools etc. into the paddock I had rented.. I then decided to go a little further and remove the dogs bed/boot liner/boot floor panel/spare wheel = race car lol To my horror my battery and B&O sub...

Help Please EPC mystery on S4 B8.5 (2012)

Aah glad you got to the bottom of it.. I took the preventative (and cheaper!) measure of having my stock cats removed/gutted/refitted. Cost around £800 iirc due to labour time.. it does make the car more raspy, but not too crazy.. and you do need to befriend your local MOT man, but that's...

Update after yesterdays shenanigans at Awesome... the head of the plastic supercharge bleed screws just snapped right off, needing the plastic thread to be drilled out. I strongly recommend all folks with a 3.0T get these swapped out asap. they are a HUGE pain to do when the fail - and they...

    Goosey built S4

Sat at Awesome getting the above done and i asked them to also add a set of ECS ali SC bleed screws to my order (as the plastic ones get brittle and fail)... then the mechanic comes out and tells me one has already failed!! One to check lads.. stage 2 car on 74k. For the sake of £50 get them...

Rears? just the boggo ones (Pagid or Brembo I think - I cant remember)... the rears don't really do that much. I have VBT J-Hook disks and HEL braided lines on the rear too.. but only really for cosmetic reasons so they match the front lol goose

    Goosey built S4

Not much to report the last few months.. did finally get round to having the Maxton front lip put on, some new rear pads, and sorting the front pad wear sensor, so i no longer have an annoying fault (caused by the DS2500s not having wear sensors). Altho, the splitter will be coming off and on...

    2013 B8.5 S4 oil consumption issues

Sadly not, i believe mine to be an early 2014 non-CREC motor so a carbon de-coke is on the agenda.. it may just have to wait till funds allow. goose

    2013 B8.5 S4 oil consumption issues

Crank pulley failure is a good excuse to get a billet single piece version and go stage 2 - that's what i did lol! As for water pump, thermostat and PCV, budget circa a grand.. that's what Awesome have quoted me, and mines going in mid-Sept. Mines a 2014 with 74k... PCV's can start to fail...
