I had the same problem around 3 months back, took it to audi they said it was a dodgy break switch behind the brake pedal.
They changed it cost me £80! mind you, problem solved. :)
I recently recieved another letter from Audi in regards to Quattro oil check, can I do this my self or should I take it to the dealer?? Where/how can I check it???
Cheers people
It's funny you should say that, I did an engine flush, changed oil pump/Filter/Oil, and low and behold noticed an oil leak :banghead: wiped the sump and surrounding area. No leak (big sigh of relief) :)
That was Thursday just gone 6th Jan.
So Quattro springs are different to the basic 1.8T? Only ask because my F/O/S coil spring went a couple weeks back, went to a firm called BMS and they got me a spring but slightly different to the original. Had no problems so far.
Sounds mechanical, I can't see how a computer could locate the knocking.
Does the car knock when you turn the steering wheel aswell? Could it be a CV joint?
What can I say? So much advice. lol
Does seem feasible to buy a new pump, also been told that the castrol edge oil is not all what it's made up to be, been told that Comma is a better deal. Any takers on this?
Also would you use a cheaper oil to flush out your engine? Before putting decent...
I had a similar problem but with a F/O/S coil spring, they told me to slow down! IT WAS A FU@*ING DUAL CARRAGE WAY!
In the mean time, why not get some photo's up of the damage so we can all sympathise/empathise.
