    A1 TDI - EGR Senor 1 7563 fault

Hi, wifes A1 1.6 TDI went into limp mode with flashing coil light. Connected vagcom and found fault 7563 egr sensor 1 P046C 00. Looks like the EGR is starting to block up and starting to stick? Anyone changed the EGR on this car? Did you buy genuine Audi or aftermarket? Thanks for any advice

Removing tint glue from rear lights

Yeah a tar remover should remove it easily, dab it on with a microfibre cloth let it break down the glue before rubbing. A light coat of polish / wax to seal the light afterwards

2008 TTS, no sound when stereo fade set to rear (BOSE)

Yeah that’s the company that most people use. I cleaned mine myself but as the legs on the Chip was damaged I had to change the chip. I have some spare if anyone needs any

2008 TTS, no sound when stereo fade set to rear (BOSE)

This is not normal! It sound like your Bose amp has water damage. Have a search and you will find it’s a common problem. You can remove the amp from the Left hand side of the boot, take the cover off it and clean all the corrosion off the PCB. If it’s too bad there’s a repair company that can...

    aqua wax

Autoglym HD is £33 from Halfords but over winter I personally would go collinite 476 as I find it very durable and around £18 (it lasts forever lol). You can then do the same wash procedure in the summer and use a nice “summer wax” that is less durable but more shine :)

    aqua wax

Aqua wax imo is not a good finishing wax. I have used it (in the past) as a every wash wax to keep the main wax topped up. It’s so quick and easy to use, if you already have it I would use it in this way! As it’s winter time I would recommend a durable wax to protect the paint such as collinite...

    2.0 TDI Poor MPG?

Regarding your temperature not getting to 90 - My A3 CR140 would struggle to get there and when I put heaters on would drop slightly. I changed the thermostat with a genuine Audi part (Around £35) and now it gets to 90 quickly and stays there. MPG over 5,000 miles 46.3 on dash. Actual 44mpg

    S3 Badge on Brake Calipers

I used a "Autotek aerosol lacquer" as I already had it here. I've also used Halfords aerosol metallic paint and Halfords lacquer to paint calipers before as I wanted a mettalic finish.. looked great and lasted well! If you don't track the car I don't think the calipers get that hot to damage...

    S3 Badge on Brake Calipers

Most cars I've owned I've cleaned caliper using a wire brush attachment on a drill to removed all rust/corrision. Paint them hammerite smooth (Silver or black), with a brush and get good results. I generally only keep my cars a year and they always look good in that time so have no doubt they...

    S3 Badge on Brake Calipers

Although I haven't got a S3, I've used caliper decals. I have applied hammerite smooth black to the caliper, eBay decals and lacquered over the top! I would take the S3 Spring clip off the car, spray paint it to get a perfect Finish, apply the S3 decal and lacquer over the top. This would...

reverse camera (wireless) cable routing ??!?

You cannot use the reverse light to power the camera as it's canbus. I believe it pulses so the camera would go on and off. You could use the reverse light to switch a relay, with a "clean" 12v feed on the relay switch. When reverse is selected the clean 12v powers the camera. I have not...

reverse camera (wireless) cable routing ??!?

Ahh, shame you bought that camera as you will have to drill into the car.. With my camera (less than £10 with wiring), I drilled into the number plate light holder which is a removal part. The cable was then run through the rubber gromit by the hinge (you have to remove the plastic cover as...

reverse camera (wireless) cable routing ??!?

I've fitted a camera to my 3door 2010 A3 Black Edition so can help. It's easier than you think :) First a few questions... Have you bought your camera? If so what one? The thread title says wireless? What headunit are you running and what wiring loom?

    Replace haldex unit

Another vote for haldexrepairs.co.uk. They helped me diagnose my haldex problem on my 2011 Audi TT. They supplied me new filter, pump and oil. If you haven't got vagcom find someone local who has and get the fault codes read. Contact that company and they will put you in the right direction
