Looks like the thrust release bearing (?) is wearing on the Polo - I can get a clutch kit for approx £60 but does anyone know what labour times are at a garage for this? I know my local garage charge £40ph so trying to get a rough idea before giving them a call. I assume its the release...

I'm looking at doing this as well as I would actually save £5pm by changing to Infinity - only downfall is I have to be in for the engineer and my next day off is not for another 3 weeks :crying:

Tried cleaning the MAF a little while ago but didn't disconnect the battery - also if I unplug the MAF it's a lot worse so could this confirm MAF is problem - thanks again for the advice.

So poss new Rocker Gasket - although not the cause of the erratic idle I feel.

And found one of the plugs had oil round it - is this normal ?

The car I have seems to run rough on idle but unplug the MAF and seems better so assume it needs cleaning? Sorry to hijack thread :-)

Thanks for the reassurance :-) Will give it a clean up - car only does about a 10mile round trip a day to work and back.

Cleaned the MAF sensor today as car was running a little rough on idle, nothing major but while doing that I also looked in the oil cap ( no idea why ) and found this Is this something I should be concerned about or is it normal? A friend mentioned something about emulsion and try taking it...

HDR done well - still not sure on HDR myself but then I have only done a couple and not if they were even done properly :-)

Interior lights work when I switched them can't remember if came on when opened door - infact thinking about it no I don't think they did and I tried the switch on the drivers door but to avail. Didn't try the windows.

As the title says really - neighbour leaves her car unlocked as only the drivers door locks from the key and remote locking not working. Could this be a fuse or is it more likely to be the motor ? Found the fuse panel on drivers side but she doesn't have the cover so struggling to know what...
